Greetings, all. On behalf of all of those who have been toiling for months on this project, I would like to invite you to become a member of the Colonial Fan Force.

The CFF is a group of worldwide BSG fans seeking to raise enough money to purchase at least one, and possibly two, full page ads in a pair of national publications to demonstrate to Glen Larson, Tom DeSanto, and the major Hollywood studios that we want this movie now, more than ever.

We're hoping to make the ad buys for the 17 September 2004 issue of Daily Variety, and the September issue of Cinsecape.

You can learn more about this effort by visiting our newly-launched website at: http://www.colonialfanforce.org

We urge you to give whatever you can donate to this effort. Every little bit helps, and this is our chance not only to eliminate any doubt regarding what we want from Larson, DeSanto, and Hollywood's mind, but also to refute any claims that we are "insignificant."

Please help the CFF spread the word by posting a link on every BBoard you frequent.

This is it, folks. The big one. It's time to show 'em what we are made of, and to make our voices heard. I hope that CFF can count on the support of everyone here, and score a victory for our Battlestar Galactica.

Thank you all for your patience.

Let it now begin.

Mind if I say something though ?

Your proposed wording of the Ad is no where near strong or convincing enough....

People could browse past it and think, that's pretty. It needs to be something that would 'stand up in court' and really show the strength, and durability of the fanbase....

Please consider re-writing it, I feel the project would benefit from it....

Daniel, we have recieved your donation, and we thank you. Are you speaking of the ad text as presented on the Colonial Fan Force homepage? While many people spent many hours creating that text, and the CFF leadership is pleased with the text, we will be happy to listen to suggestions. Please feel free to email them to me at info@colonialfanforce.org. Once again, thank you for joining the campaign.

Ernie: the text in the image above is not the text that will appear in the ad. You can see a "draft" ad at the CFF website (although I'm not sure you can read the text). The remarkable David Kerin, who created the image above, is presently working on the final ad design.

This is a realistic plan with an attainable goal; this is something everyone who wants to see BSG on the big screen can get behind and actually make a difference. Think about it - if you consider the fact that over 17,000 people signed the "bring back BSG" petition, even if you discount a certain percentage for repeaters, it still means that if each signer were to contribute just a buck or two the goal would be reached in a week's time.

This is doable. Tell your friends.

;) :salute:

Hi, thanks for the replies to my comments about the text of the Ad. I don't mean to bog this thread down with discussion about the text. I will e-mail the above address with suggestions as you have made me welcome to do....

I STRONGLY support this idea, and have put my money where my mouth is and made a donation. I would like to encourage other fans to do so too.

Let's make this happen everyone !!!

I think the I and A in COLONIAL needs to be linked.

Also the copy needs to have a black glow to prevent the stars from touching the letters.

The line spacing is way too close. It lacks legibility.

I love the ad! The artwork is gorgeous! Thomas is right that legibility is very important - but the ad here is just fine! (The one at CFF is hard to read though).

My check is in the mail - Long Live the True Battlestar Galactica!!!

Affectionately,
