Some Thoughts/What would you do?

I would have been real tempted to just leave TOS opening mono-log "There are Those Who Believe" etc, but instead of the collage background TOS used, I would have replaced that with various images of the Cosmos from the Hubble Space Telescope to honor that soon to be retired program.

I would have kept the tie in to "Ancient Egypt" as well, and some of the buildings on "Caprica" would have looked like "Modernized CGI Egypt Theme" styles. Even if some "Stargate" fans might have complained.

Would have left the "Peace Conference" and TOS time line where it was. Saw no practical to reason to change this. It's plausable, it's understandable, and it works with some modernizing/updating CGI just fine.

I would have left the Cylons looking like advanced Machines......Updated yes....but not looking like us.

There has to be something about the cylon development in the past 40 years in Moore's universe that is incompatible with the cylons being created originally by an alien race. What that is I can only guess. It is apparantly something important enough to change the original 1,000 yahren war scenario.

I liked the TOS scenario and would have loved to see some kind of prequel or a flash back episode in TOS that explained the history of the human/cylon conflict a bit better. I read a post by Aeneas the other day that explained a scenario were the colonials were being worn down over time by the cylons. That would go a long way in explaining their desire for the armistice.
