Personally there was never a Galactica episode that contained those elements.

I'm sorry Wavie Davie. I never heard of an ep containing those elements.
Welcome to the fleets by the way.

I'm certain that the events you describe did not happen in Battlestar Galactica, WavieDavie (so I switched this thread out of the main BSG discussion area, FYI).
Why am I thinking of Battle Beyond the Stars? That's the movie with Richard "John-Boy" Thomas, George Peppard, Robert Vaughn, and a bunch of others. Not really good, campy as heck, and I haven't seen it in years.
Good luck finding this out. :salute:

There was an episode of Star Trek next Generation where an the Enterprise races the Romulans to find a old Federation Starship with an experimental drive engine that can make the ship not only invisible but it can make it out of phase so it can pass through solid matter. They find the ship in an asteroid field embedded partially into wall of a cavern inside a big asteroid.
There is also an episode of Babylon Five where there was lots of ships battling to reach the heart of a machine deep inside a planet.

I think that one was called "The Pegasus" and IMO it was a great episode.
