Hello fellow members of the Fleet:
It looks like Battlestar Galactica got nominated (in one form or another) in 3 different categories:
The first nomination is for BEST TELEVISION PRESENTATION:
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (Sci Fi Channel)
the second nomination is for BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES
Katee Sackhoff - BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (Sci Fi Channel)
the third nomination is for BEST DVD TELEVISION RELEASE
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA - THE COMPLETE EPIC SERIES (Universal)

Well, as much as I would like to disagree, and be a reflexive mini supporter, I had to look at the competition.
I think Children of Dune beats the mini in the TV category.
I think Jolene Blaylock takes best supporting actress (purely hormonal response).
I'd have to go DS9 for the DVD release, or maybe Firefly.
The old Gal might walk away empty-handed on this one.

I think its great about the mini. It was one of the best things on Sci-Fi this year!
Of course, Olmos should have been nominated!!!

The DVD set gets my vote. It's a great set...I especially like all the cut scenes....very cool stuff.

I haven't seen "Firefly" yet, but I'm probably gonna try and rent it from Netflix to see it. I've already seen DS9 when it was around the first time, but that particular iteration of Trek never really grabbed me to watch again - it's fine as it is, but its just not my choice of Trek.
When I bought TOS on DVD, that was the first time that I have spent so close to 100 bucks on any DVD purchase - I didn't regret spending it either. Re-watching TOS really brought BSG back to life for me. I loved all the extras - the cut scenes and new documentaries. Not bad for a "forgotten" show, or as some call it "a one-season wonder". I was suprised that Universal had so much original material to use. I know that some had complaints about the DVD set, but I'm perfectly happy with mine. My only gripe was with the "unique" packaging.....the "eye" doesn't even move!
Best to all,
Bryan

*IF* I was to nominate a supporting actress from the mini, it'd be Park (Boomer).
Darrell,
I would agree with you there - Grace had more scenes and more to do in them. I thought that Ms. Sackhoff really didn't get that many good scenes or lines. Not to slight her acting ability, but I just don't see where the nomination came from. Unless it was for throwing that punch....

Or it could be some really liked her portrayal.
For me, Mary McDonnell should have received it: here we have a classy older woman that Apollo is drawn to. She exuded sensuality from her maturity & sophistication.
I like the fact they're keeping her in the series.

Lee Adama's Oedipus Syndrome?
I could have slept better without thinking of that.
Was Zoic on the list?

My hope is that BSG 2003 mini WINS,,,WINS...WINS. And I agree with Koeniqrules that EJO should have received a nomination for best actor. The scene between Apollo and him in his quarters was great acting. Olmos is my favorite and I think he's HOT!
Here's to BSG mini
SO SAY WE ALL!!

I agree w/ you DM. I think Children of Dune will walk away with the award. I enjoyed CoD more than the mini.

If the Saturn Award is for Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, why is Tom Cruise's The Last Samuri nominated?
