Why don't I see the Galactica actors making guest appearances on TV series anymore? Have they all retired from episodic television? I know that Anne does voice over work but I haven't actually seen her on TV for a while. Richard's last TV acting appearance was in Baywatch in 1995, and the last time I saw Dirk was on Baywatch, I think in 1993.
Jack Stauffer mentioned at the Columbus convention a few years ago that guest starring roles don't pay as well as they used to, so maybe that is the reason. OR
Are they trying out for roles, and not getting hired?
Are they just not auditioning?
I haven't even seen Ed Begley Jr. in anything for several years, and I used to see him everywhere!

They didn't break out of the mold early enough to be accepted in older characters. Most of the lead older characters came up through the ranks. Our familiarity with their faces make up for our distaste of looking older.

People generally think of themselves as much younger than they are. we perceive older looking people as our parents. This becomes a turn off for us when viewing romantic roles. The familiarity with an actor we associate in their youth tends to soften that.
