Saw a really nice accident yesterday. A pick up slammed into a dodge sports car yesterday and tried to say it was the driver of the dodges fault when there was several witnesses who saw differently. The driver of the pick up got tagged with the accident because his liscense and reg were revoked. Can we ooooops!

yup.... total stupidity.
:)
I remember my teacher in college was showing us this one clip. A whale had beached itself and died. The townsfolk in charge were hicks who wanted to play with some explosive. They planted explosives under the whale. They planned to explode the whale into bits into the sea, and the seagulls and fish can eat up the chunks.
Unfortunately that's not how physics work.
The explosion created shockwaves through the ton of whale flesh. The resulting explosion blasted the whale parts backwards. They had not cleared the space of people and cars sufficiently thinking the pieces would all go toward the sea.
A ton of whale RAINED on the crowd and cars.
I don't remember anyone getting hurt. But a car was crushed. And the spectators were covered in week old dead whale bits.
The seagulls and fish to eat the whale bits were frightened off by the blast.

I found the video and ran some filters to improve it a little and compressed it down. Its about the same quality but half the size as the original.
Here it is:

Tom, that happened out on the Oregon Coast many years ago - I don't know how long, but I do know the reporter has fans around the world because of that clip.

I cannot say I was there, but you do remember where I live, don't you?

I've lived in this general area since 1967. Moved here from your neck of the woods, in fact, Tom. But the exploding whale is something of a legend in this corner of the US.

Both those videos were something else! positively no understanding of physics going on there or even common sense for that matter. I'll never forget when I was about 13 we were sent to a retreat for the day and the people in charge had created a toboggan run down the side of a hill . Only problem was at the bottom of the hill was the river it was frozen for the most part but out towards the middle the river was open and moving swiftly. Well having grown up around snow and living beside the river for the past few years I took on look at that and said no thanks. One kid after another sailed down and out onto the river, each time my heart went into my throat. I kept thinking how can they not see how dangerous this is they are going to kill somebody's kid. Sure enough the next kid goes sailing down and right up to the edge of the opening. Panic broke out, the people in charge raced out onto the ice to retrieve him. Very close call. Really makes you wonder were people are storing their brains.
