After watching Episode II with Hayden Christensen, I wondered if he could have made Phantom Menace a beter movie. This is no discredit to Jake Lloyd. IMHO having the story revolve around a 9 year old was a mistake. Thoughts?

The original trilogy was told almost entirely from the POV of the droids. Lucas should have used a similar method for this trilogy, picking a couple of characters who would have served as the common thread through the story. The droids might have worked again. Or, perhaps, if he'd had Anakin as a young adult... Then he should have let other people have more input on the script and spent less time selling out. ;)

I thought the introduction of Anakin as a child broke continuity in terms of Kenobi's initial converstations with Luke.
Though later Kenobi displays a capacity for prevarication with the "true, from a cretain point of view" remark in later eps,and this might be used as cover to gloss this over.
"When I first met your father,he was already a skilled pilot, but I was amazed at how strongly the force..." quoting from memory,so please don't hang me out on the specifics.
And "I don't recall ever owning a droid."
I would have enjoyed all the installments after the original SW now called ANH much more if there were no pandering to the children segment of the audience, and the subsequent merchandising tie ins.
