if you liked the futuristic space adventures with a flair of westernism that Firefly had, you will probably enjoy Cowboy Bebop tonight.
Cowboy Bebop is a japanese animated series. Its VERY well animated. Its not cartoony, but is close to live action in terms of drawing real people and having scripts like live action. its sometimes funny, often ironic, and loving the bit of wacky. All the time having exciting adventures for the crew of the Cowboy Bebop.
The background story has earth in the next century has developed a system of hyperspace gates. The first gate near the moon exploded tearing the moon apart. Debri still rains on the earth smashing apart cities. Anyone who had money moved offworld.
The Cowboy Bebop is an old space tugboat purchased by a group of bounty hunters. Jet is a stern former police detective, Spike is an easy going gangster hitman who gave up "the business". Together they take the Cowboy Bebop whereever there is good bounty.
