Has anyone played it? And can anyone share clues on how to get past the Rancor???

Are you sure you aren't talking about Jedi academy? Cause I played Jedi academy and got past the rancor level in that game.

There is a pile of bones in the middle of the room, go over to the pile and put the odor thingy and a grenade into the pile. Then you get the watch the little cutscene of the Rancor gulping down a grenade:D
