A bootleg copy. Boy, Bonnie Hammer really is getting desperate for money to finance the series.

Doubtful: she's probably more concerned if she'll still have a job beyond February sweeps or some such other performance marker.

I'd be willing to trade it for one of my turds, so I could use it for skeet shooting.

I e-mailed one of these guys just to see what they were peddling....and no, I didn't buy a copy. I'm still passing that tape I made of it around to some guys at work that got curious AFTER the mini had come and gone.

The one guy that I emailed said that it was a VCD transfer from VHS tape sans commericals on 2 disks. He said the quality isn't as sharp as DVD-R, but it he was willing to stand behind it. For some reason, eBay pulled all the auctions of another seller that was pushing a DVD-R version, but allowed the VCD auctions to keep going. I don't know if it was an issue with that particular seller, or if it was an issue based on copyrights or whatever.

He offered me a set of disks for 9.95 to check them out, but I told him that I already had a very clean copy on tape, and I had only made the tape for a friend that didn't have acess to Skiffy, but still wanted to take a look.. By the way, that friend of mine - he said that it was complete rubbish and fast forwarded through most of it. He told me to call him and let him know when Glen Larson gets his updated version out....

Best regards,
Bryan

Is it a legal sale????

Not that I object to such things, but I would bet ebay yanks it.

The idea that someone would come off $56 USD for something they could have recorded and edited themselves...

If you notice - that particular seller has no prior feedback listed - he is either a new seller, or one that has a new listing under a new name. Personally, the morons that are bidding that high deserve what they get..... I wouldn't be surprised it that's the same seller that had his listings pulled last week.

Would you pay over fifty bucks for something that is only as valuable as a drink coaster?

i would like to know where he got it from. if it is a transfer from t.v. to disk or if he got a copy and burned it from direct source.

there is no way i would pay that much for that dvd.

Hey there...

Speaking as someone who has little to no technological talent, and a very lousy VHS copy, does anyone know if SciFi has any plans to put this out on DVD. No, I wouldn't pay $50, but I'd even be happy to get VCD's with no commercials at cost <g>. Seriously, though, it's worth keeping, and I'd love to have it in a form I could watch without fast-forwarding. I can't see SciFi missing a marketing opportunity.

I know that in another thread, Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol) has referred to a number of scenes that will be included. Apparently, the original cut was 6 hours (rather than 4) and they edited it to death. I'm very hopeful that the new footage will be very extensive - and also that they release the DVD soon. Okay - sigh - I'm hooked. Admitted. I've never done anything half-way.

When I fast forward through the commercials it's about 3 hours rather than 4. If they have 6 hours of footage.... oh man that's gonna be cool. I wonder though, how much of the extra footage could've gotten through post-pro before it was cut.
