Earlier this week a number of web sites announced that just such an order had been inked. Not so, according to a spokesperson for the Sci-Fi Channel. While it still seems likely that there will be some action on the Galactica front, no orders for either a series or a sequel to the mini-series have come from Sci-Fi Channel. No decisions or orders for new episodes will happen until after the first of the year, so cool your jets, little Colonial Warriors.

December 23, 2003 - The success of Sci-Fi Channel's recent Battlestar Galactica re-imagining / re-make must have taken a number of people by surprise. Despite critical and fan lambasting, the mini drew impressive numbers for the cable channel, chalking up some of the best ratings in the network's history, so it seemed inevitable that a series order would be announced soon.

I guess a dec 31st announcement isn't going to happpen.

Thanks for the artiicle :)

Thanks for the article Jjarkman.

Not to worry just because a series is MADE or NOT
made doesn't guarantee that anyone will watch it.

But if there's a go, they are expecting viewers.
And presumably some of those who saw the mini (especially on the second night) will be consistent viewers for Sci-Fi.
I will certainly watch it religiously. Even when they re-air the episode later that night.

I'll watch it.
I'll turn it on every set in the house so the ratings police think more people are watching it than live here.

Well, me and my buddies in the trailer park are all gonna be watchin wrestling. And we got two TV’s, but the bottom don’t get no picture. Since Bonnie Hammer wants the doublewide mobile home demographic, you gonna be watchin wrestlin this fall on Sci Fi.

slider, you are NOT to give them those kind of ideas....they might take it seriously! ;) I mean how else do you explain Tremors: the series or Scare Tactics....than that maligned demo of which you spoke or perhaps a frat party that's already blown a keg and the sorority girls went home.

WWE??? on SCIFI????
Oh man...don't say such things!!!! If they moved to there...I don't think I could handle that!!!!

*shuddering at the thought of seeing WWE on Scifi....*

That is not a picture I want to see in my mind again...

Think about the costumes from the '80s Flash Gordon movie. They would serve perfectly.

Hey,and why does Comedy Central have Battlebots and Beat the Geeks? Those are some cheap shows for BH to pick up! Could even rerun them and save even more money.

SHHHHHHHHH don't let them hear you!! They might take you serious and ask for the rights on those!!!! Heck they might even "re-imagine" those shows too.

And just can't see the Taker or the Rock wearing Flash Gordon costumes.....

YUP... REALLY MAD MAD HOUSE: Bonnie Hammer kidnaps and ties up scifi fans and forces them to watch her latest "scifi" film ideas. "if it don't kill them, it airs."

Hey, I loved the fembots on Bionic Woman.
Those were some of my favorite episodes!
Its nice to see BSG 2003 borrowing from some other shows from the 70s & not just TOS of BSG.
For me, that brought a nice nostalgic touch to complement the contemporary feel of BSG.

My source at Sci Fi says wrestling has definitely been GREENLIGHTED.
I’ll know more tomorrow morning after he empties Ms. Hammer’s trashcan again.
