I doubt I'll have the time tomorrow or the next day to post so I want to wish everyone the very best of holidays.
I hope Santa is very good to you all.

Shouldn't that be "Joyous Winter Lords of Kobol Holiday Thingie"?
:D
On a somewhat more serious note--and this is not appropriate to ask here--did TOS ever get into the seasonal festivals of Colonial culture? I do not seem to recall such a basic and common feature of human life getting any real attention...

Hi Dogface, welcome to Colonial Fleets! Good question, perhaps if there were a second season we would've found out...
I'm also trying to recall if Trek TOS or TNG ever addressed holidays...

Nope. Not even once. Could be a side plot for an Ent episode though... maybe.

That was "Trouble with Tribbles," Hito. At the very beginning, in the corridor, Kirk was talking to somebody about that.

Hey guys, sorry to say, wrong on both counts...
the holiday was Thanksgiving and the episode was 'Charlie X'...
(the "someone" that Kirk was talking to, was Charlie)

I really think it was in the opening sequence of "Tribbles", BST.
I'm something of a fan of the writer (David Gerrold) and seem to recall an interview years ago where he said that the one line is the only time in the entire series that "cooking" was discussed.
I could, however, be wrong. It happens, on rare occasions. ;)
