Any thoughts on bringing these beloved characters from TOS into a dark reimagined BSG episode?

I have to be honest. NO!

(edited)
Well, maybe... if it's dark and reimagined.

Maybe I'll post on TOS area and try to start a Hector and Vector fan club.

Maybe I'll be punished by being stuck with an H/V avatar!

We change Hector and Vector to FEMALE androids which would be different...um...nevermind.

Sarcasm, very nice! LOL

They could be early prototype Cylon humanoids either discarded or escaped from the Cylons... maybe. A male and a female, both very paranoid and well armed. Not clutsy or goofy but not entirely mentally stable either. And that could lead to some unpredictable behavior both menacing and funny.

My first thought was to say that Hector & Vector have no place in the new series if it happens. After reading The Rain's post I thought we could have a couple good episodes if Hector & Vector are found adrift in space. They pretend to befriend the colonials and even offer to help guide a skeptical Adama toward "Earth" or some resupply place. After a friendly episode or two turn them evil. We find out they were set adrift because they killed the people they worked for and ran out of fuel running in deep space. They learn about the Galactica's predicament and figure they could get fuel and a home among machines if they sell out the position of the Galactica. End the episodes with them escaping after taking over some kind of FTL capable ship and jumping toward the Cylon Empire. Leave the viewer wondering if our compassion may result in the position of the Galactica getting revealed.

Re-Imagine them as real human Lip-Stick Lesbians...making out every other scene. Oh Yeah!;)

Yes, H & V are some of the missing Cylon models!
Maybe their spines would glow when they eat?

Any other "cheese" from TOS that could be salvaged?

The singers from Carillon? That would conflict with my "no humanoid aliens" wish.

Super Scouts? (I know, not from TOS).

I kinda like the idea of having them be like some of the klunky robots in AI

I never liked Hector and Vector. Or any of the Planet Terra/Lunar 7 episodes for that matter. I found the whole Eastern Alliance thing to be quite hokey. And these two robots were just to annoying. Apollo should have demonstrated his weapons fire power on them instead of those barrels. That would have been cool.

How about a cameo for them as crash test dummies with Hector and Vector name tags? It would be the homage they deserve!

Maybe they could be callsigns for newbie viper pilots before they get vaporized.

Well since it seems Moore only saw the original pilot of the series, I highly doubt Hector and Vector would make it. I mean why bring them back when they didn't bring back Cain or Sheba. And if Sheba makes it, will she be a he?

Sheba & Cain did not appear in "Saga of Star World."

RDM is on record about including the "Living Legend" story in any potential series.

Maybe "Hector the vector" could be slang for completely messing up and going in the worst possible wrong direction.

Ya know that's good too! Kinda like BG's version of the saying "jumping the shark".... sort of.

Worse comes to worse it could become a good saying on this board!
