I am crazy or is Boxey the kid in the family picture that the Colonial representative is looking at in the opening sequence? He mentions that his father is the military and that they told him he was missing.
It seems like a neat little twist...:)

Yes, that is Boxey in the picture. The man on the station is his dad.

I didn't even make that connection until I watched the re-broadcast this afternoon. I saw the picture and I just thought: "Oh, that's why Boxey mentioned that his dad was in the Colonial Fleet and was missing". I missed the guy taking the pics of his wife and son the first time....

I didn't notice that at all. That is interesting, though they will obviously never even be able to figure out what happened to him.
Seems like it is going to be Boomer and Tyrol taking care of Boxey in this incarnation instead of Apollo.

Yeah it looks like that's one of the changes Boxey being taken care of by Boomer and Tyrol. That might work out! It makes sense for this series and in the original it made more sense for Apollo to take care of Boxey. Now this is a character that I didn't think would have to grow on me because well let's face it I loved the original Boxey, he was soo darn cute. Yes when I was younger I had a crush on Boxey!!!. One thing needs to be said though a Boxey without his daggit Muffit is no Boxey I want to see it!!! LOL

It'll be interesting to see how they fit the 'family' aspect in with Boomer being a cylon... (if she is one... they could always do the: we just used her image thing suggested in other threads)... and how they deal with her being one when they find out... im thinking a season finale type thing if it goes to series...

I noticed it ... and ... for the life of me ... have no idea why it hasn't been mentioned here before ... Good Call

I mentioned this in another post but I think there was a reason Boxey's Dad (?) and Cylon 6 were together in the first scene. I think his strange reaction and confusion is related to a past "affair/relationship?" with a Cylon 6 figure.
Was Boxey the unseen unheard short in stature (based on camara angle) figure Cylon 6 meets in Caprica City after leaving Baltar prior to the attack?
Was Boomer's fortuitous rescue good luck or a rendevous?
If Boxey is a cylon is it possible Boomer works for him now?
If he isn't a cylon could he be an unwitting homing beacon for the cylon fleet?
Could he be Cylon 6's kid?
I think the writers have a lot of good stuff to work with. I bet he won't just be the little boy with an artificial dagget in this series.

Man, I like how your mind works!
Those would be some interesting ripples in the story.
Maybe since the Cylons got religion, they will not all follow mindlessly but some will go renegade, good and bad...
And somebody mentioned that it looked like Colonel Tigh's wife resembled Number 6. Hmmm...
Who knows? But its fun to imagine the possibilities, isn't it?

I think your right about the cylons getting religion being a good ripple in the story lines also.
After 9/11 I think the whole "How could Al-Queda live among us and still do what they did?" question is under a microscope in the new Battlestar. If cylons are more than just machines some must come to appreciate our lifestyle and freedom. What if they fell in love with the enemy (6&Baltar)? What if the only difference between us and them is upbringing not physiologyl? We humans have no problem killing our own over far less historically.
Even if you look at the old series the cylons above the level of centurions seemed to have independent thought and motivations that didn't include those of cylon society as a whole. I remember a few episodes where cylons lied to superiors to cover their own problems. I remember a few incidents of brown nosing also. I remember one episode where Baltar's side kick cylon made the statement to Baltar that the cylon Basestar commanders wouldn't be happy with his tactics implying they had feelings. Some of the hard core TOS fans I think have forgot that just because the chasis looks human doesn't mean the mentality of the original cylons ever changed. Only the centurians were dumb chrome toasters.
