I am wondering how different the BG game would have been if DeSanto had made the show instead of Moore? It seems that the game in part is based on the mini because of how the ships zoom by. This was shown in the Lowdown preview. To score a kill one must lead the target like in WWII combat.

The game itself lends more to the original premis than Moore's version even comes close to. In this game you have the original music score, original sound effects and a total emmersive feeling of being once again in the Galactica universe. Although some elements from the mini are apparent it's also VERY apparent that the game developers loved the original series premis. As far as i'm concerned after seeing the cut scenes alone this is the true Battlestar Galactica we've wanted from the begining. The game if played head to head with the mini blows it away. If you were to have the cut scenes playing in the background compared to the new tv series i think you would definately turn the tv off. That's how good this game is. I'm talking cut scenes and the feel of the original, as far as game play it has it's good points and it's bad. BUT the movies within the game are worth the purchase price alone.

Titon how far have you gotten in the game? I managed to get to stage two, defending the Galactica bridge but sadly the ship is lost each time. :D

I saved the Galactica from the Cylons, I destroyed the jamming satellites in the next section, but I just can't keep Paulus from getting his butt blown away....!
I have a stupid question to ask as well: How do you save the progress you've made for Sagan's sake??? I read the booklet and saved the profile, but I keep having to do it all over from the beginning each time. I must be doing something wrong in this area, or I'm not making enough progress for it to be saved...
I'm gonna give it another go in the meantime - it beats renting movies on a rainy day!

To save the game you need a PS2 memory card.

I can't wait to play the game but mine has not even been shiped from Amazon.com, and I pre ordered! I'm going to quit this pre order junk and just buy off the shelf in the future. I had to wait about four weeks after the release date to get the BSG DVD through Amazon.
This time I even paid extra to have the game shiped faster.
By the way Titon, when you finished the game did you un lock the bonus level and fly with Apollo and Starbuck??????

KF -
I did buy a memory card two days ago. I inserted it and formatted it. My problem is trying to save the game at the point where I left off. I always seem to wind up having to go through the game from the beginning. The only "save" option I can find is where you save the pilot profile after you have quit the game - this option is not available during the "paused" options that are accessable while playing the game.
*Sigh* I'll figure it out sooner or later - meantime, I'm becoming one hell of a shot! Just not good enough to keep Paulus' ass alive...
