I'm gathering info from several sources I heard at con, including Desantos himself, still I could use confirmation on this.

Tom DeSantos announced at con he is still technically contracted to the current BG miniseries project by Universal. He isn't working on it anymore, but technically he signed the contract to get his version going, If I infer correctly that means that even though this is totally different story, this miniseries is still legally the same project. And he is bound by his contract to this thing.

And if his big Universal contracts are anything like my tiny Disney ones, they say anything he produces related to that project in any way legally belongs to Universal and NOT his.

So he can't produce anything Galactican right now. He probably can't even take public pokes at the mini. I bet the contract has a clause to prevent that.

Although that is conjecture, though I bet its true. I bet he's legally stuck until the mini airs. However I bet Dec 8th is when he will be free. Contracts are linked to financial projects and not to related story projects.

I don't know what will happen once the mini airs, but my best wishes go to Tom, and my prayers too!

I'll bet real money not 'Languatron’ money that Universal will have something to do with any theatrical release of a Glen Larson production of Battlestar Galactica. Those DVD sales has got to have somebody really pissed off @ Universal, ya think!

So I would think Tom DeSanto could have a shot if he is available. X-Men III & maybe a Transformers movie permitting.

I believe Transformers is at the top of his to-do-list.

I think the fact that glen owns the rights is all that's needed really, that and a backer. Though the ideas we saw at con, bay be still contracted to universal. I would bet universal still sees those ideas as part of the mini legally.

Hollywood is run on lawsuits. :D

Don't be sad OWD. He still loves BSG as much as the rest of us, he just may have to come up with a totally different story idea.... which will likely be even better.

Ya but haven't you heard ? we are a bunch of close minded die hards that want to bring back Disco and 70s hair.

How is Tom ever going to win us over when Galactica fans are pure evil.

ROTFLMAO
