repcisg

Hi all,
For all those wondering what happened to repcisg, well a great deal is happening. The computer industry in the Portland Vancouver area is dying. Several major corporations are moving their computer operations out of the area. Sun just laid off a large number of programmers, Kroger is moving their operations to Utah, Willamette Industries was bought out and their operation has been moved to Tennessee. Intel is moving a number of projects to India and Daimler is merging Freightliner into Chrysler. Some folks I’ve worked with over the years have been out of work for nearly a year now with little hope for change.
As a result of all this I have concluded I have two options, change industries or move. My family does not want to move and neither do I so changing industries is what I’m doing. I have been interviewing with the local Real Estate Brokers these past few weeks and researching the local markets, we have a very healthy Real Estate market. Last week I started Real Estate school. I am going with Century 21, they have the most comprehensive training program. If all goes according to plan I will start in January.
The next two to three weeks are going to be intense as I prep for the State Exams. After that I’m going to kick back, enjoy the holidays, catch up on my writing. and hang out here more.
Anyway, that’s the plan!
