Autum seems to be out to get me. First strep, then two bouts of tonsilitis, now a cold. And hope looks thin as there are already salt boxes appearing on various street corners. I need to move to Arizona.

Poor FG. I feel for you. As soon as you're over your cold, go get a flu shot.
Every year I've had a flu shot I've stayed reasonably healthy all winter.
Here's something to make you feel better:
Grrr. Grrrr.
:D

I have been where you are....When I lived in Chicago, my first winter there was exciting because I didn't see much snow growing up in the Carolinas. But as the years wore on, I and my children were always sick with colds from Sept.-April and after about the 10th year we got tired of the snow. Now I have picked Florida to live in. Where I am, I get the seasons and the winters are not extreme. It only gets down in the 20's around Christmas. If you have no ties to the north and really want a better climate, North Florida is the best in my opinion( I have lived in practically every climate). The Gulf side is the nicest. I have to admit that it is alot quieter and not much action...but the beaches are beautiful and in the winter they are all yours to walk on for hours. Relocating isn't as bad as everyone thinks. Check out the job possibilities where you want to go. On-line you can get all kinds of info on everything about a town.....If the desire is strong enough, it is always possible...and the sun does shine alot down here.....Arizona is very nice too, but I have to be by the ocean :p

It bothers me as I dodn't usually get sick.
As for how bad relocating really is...I've moved 12 times in my life, three times across the continent, so I know how hard it really is.

Well, I haven't moved quite that far.....Only from Chicago to Miami....with 3 small children...lol... so I guess that does make it hard...... and I am glad that it is in the past.....

And to the suggestion that I go out and get a flu shot, the poor condition of my immune system right now might cause me to develop the flu from the shot.
Yes, that can and does happen.

Me thinks we need to wrap our FG in big, fluffy cotton batting. And send her someplace warm.
OK, how'd you manage that? Who'd you try to kick?

I have been trying to think of a cool story for how I broke it, coz 'runnin to the bathroom and discovering the coffee table was 4 inches longer than I thought it was' is so very not cool sounding.
Um... I tried to kick RDM, but he has an astounding force-field surrounding him... yeah, I think I'll go with that one.
