If you have plans on watching don't. If this thing succeeds we as fans fail to achieve the goal we worked so hard for, that is BG brought back the proper way. Like Olmos stated, "Don't hurt yourselves." Watch Football, WWE Raw, or any other tv show on the air.

We need to fight the curiosity and the inevitable train-wreck effect. When there's a disaster coming by, everybody has to stop to see it. Don't!

I will not be seeing it. I propose that we as fans plan an event to coincide with it as an alternative.

Sounds good, What do you have in mind?

Perhaps another TV program we can all agree to watch ... perhaps an online chat amongst the fans, even if a BSG celebrity can't be present ... perhaps a Colonial Fleets roll call topic disussion on this site where we all post to check in and confirm that we are NOT watching the mini ... the possibilities are endless.

That are good ideas Stray Viper.

Hey guys,

I understand everyone's passions regarding the upcoming BSG mini-series. The only people who need to turn off their TV sets are those with Neilsen boxes. Anyone know any Neisen family personally? If not, its not going to matter. Sci-Fi is not going to know whether you watch or not.

I personally will watch it, so that I will know each and everything to criticize. Believe me, I will come up with an itemized list.

Glen Larson had some interesting things to say (at Galacticon) regarding the new miniseries and how it may affect the motion picture project. In a strange way, it may actually help if the new BSG is a success. (his words... don't shoot the messenger)

Ah for those with PVR's and those with satellite setups, your viewing activities are being reported. So do not use them if you do watch the mini. It's like having a Neilsen box in your home, big daddy is watching.

What the heck are PVRs?

it sounds nasty :D

I'm not going to really care no more about the mini. It doesn't have as great an effect on BG as we feared. Not as long as people don't forget about BG after the mini airs.

I don't care of Sci-Fi is watching me or knows if I watch or not, I'm still NOT watching it. It's the principle of the thing. And I think it will be fun to have an alternative event.

If, by any chance, you are selected as a Neilson houshold while the mini is on please say you are watching anything on the air other than the mini. You may get a survey call or you may get those little viewer diaries to fill out as you watch. Just say you are watching reruns of M.A.S.H on the Hallmark channel or somthing. It is my personal goal to do everything I can to make this mini die a ignominius death. I will watch the mini so that I can describe what is wrong with it intelligently. I also will record the commercials so that I will know who to boycott and send complaint letters to. This is war people!

It sure is........ however seeing the script with the officers
making out everywhere..............but on the bridge ...........
having them describe baltar writhing in the chair as a
cyber cylon tramp is giving him a hand job in his mind .........
seeing the pic of the cylon $*%&^ as she is holding the
child JUST BEFORE she puts her finger through his head .......
That pretty much sums up what you'll be recording............
and what I WILL NOT be watching.

I appreciate your candor, but this is exactly what I was warning about. You are free to watch the mini, of course, but I personally will not watch it on principle. I wondered aloud previously how many fans who are against the mini will end up supporting it unwittingly by watching to see everything that is wrong with it, or "describe what is wrong with it intelligently" as you put it. To all such fans, I suggest to please fight the curiosity, fight the urge to watch the train wreck.

I'm playing my role: not watching it myself, discouraging others from watching it; and encouraging an alternative event instead. But, as I stated, I'm not ordering anyone to not watch it. I respect people's wishes and opinions. Speaking for myself, I can let you know that you don't need to see the miniseries to report to me what is wrong with it; I know everything I need to know about already. So don't watch it for me. Please.

Just watching the mini does not mean you support it. The only way the mini can be helped is if viewers who are contacted by the Neilsons say they watched it. It is like listening to a politician who's views you do not support. Just listening to the speech does not equate to a vote for that person.

I believe that in the business of television, it does.
