View Full Version : Strange Bonus Section Behavior on Disc 1

Got my DVD box set last Tuesday on opening day :D and after checking out the bonus material on disc 1, I noticed that no menu pops up, but rather the last frame of the background movie of the first menu remains and all I see are the selection lines where the menu items SHOULD be. I can move them up and down and view the bonus material (which is unbelievably cool, BTW - esp. Adama's resignation and Serena's mysterious illness). This happens on BOTH sides of Disc 1. I have since moved on to Disc 2 and I haven't seen that weird behavior. The bonus menu comes up as it should.

Has anyone else seen this problem on Disc 1 - is this a bug and, if so, will Universal replace the disc with a functioning version?

Any info appreciated!

I had a problem with the first disc with the bonus materials but it was with the section that had interviews with Richard, Dirk and Glen. I couldn't get that section of the bonus to work. So far though everything else works.

Starbuck Frack,

If you're referring to the commentary, you select that and then rewatch the movie. Rather than having the typical soundtrack, you get a voiceover of the film.

If that isn't it, then I'd contact the seller and get another copy before they run out.

Thank you TwoBrainedCylon!!! I will try that the next time I watch it. I figured I must be doing something wrong but wasn't sure. I just finished watching the first side of disc 4 tonight. Two and a half discs left then have to start watching again.

The commentary is actually pretty nice. Its good to hear Richard, Dirk, and Herb just clowning around. Not too much new info but its still a good listen.

It also depends on what player you are using. I have heard abot people who us the PS2 system and experience problems but have none when a conventional player is used.
