I received a message from Stu Phillips yesterday. He told me that Geffen Records will be releasing a digitally remixed CD to Battlestar Galactica.
As far as he knows, it will be the same as the original LP. However, I have looked on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Tower Records, and they all list the CD coming out November 18, with a bonus track. Sounds good. I can't wait! This CD release will be an added treat for us fans.
First the DVDs, then the companion book and now the CD. Boy, this really is the anniversary year.

Phillips is a master of BG music. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us. I own all of the BG music including the 4cd anthology set. Stu was also kind enough to sign our petition.

I have that 4CD set too along with the 12" disco version single that came out too. Can't wait to see this new anniversary CD. Hope it's got a dinstictive cover. Some sleeve notes would be nice too.

I have heard that there will be a bonus track on the 25th anniversary CD. It's called 'Disco Galactica'. I think it's probably taken from the 12" single. Hope so.:colwar:

But the big question is, will it have that "love" song on it.

It's Love...It's love was the name of the song.

The song in question is 'It's Love, Love, Love'. I picked up a 7inch single of it at Cult TV last week (UK cat no. MCA 416) - it's credited to 'Tartaglia and the Space Angels' (Tartaglia being John Tartaglia, one of the song writers - the song was co-written with Sue Collins & Glen Larson).

I believe it is a re-issue of the original LP, so the song "It's Love, Love, Love", should be there too. I have two copies of the disc single that was released, but not the 7" version, just the 12".:colwar:

Bring back that 70s hair, and that 70s music. Here is the lyrics from the BG FAQ. All hail the "Space Supremes"!

E11. What are the lyrics to the song the trio sang on Carillon?

It's Love, Love Love
Sung by: The Tucana singers on Carillon
Written by: John Targalia, Sue Collins, and Glen Larson
Performed by: The Space Angels

CHORUS
It won't matter where you go
It won't matter what you do
'Cause something's always after you
It's love, love, love, love
It's love, love, love, love
It's love, love, love, love, love

You run, you can't get away
If you go or if you're staying
'Cause love is here, love is there
Love is almost everywhere

CHORUS

There will be another beat
One you may not tire of singing
Love surrounds you, love's around you
Love is almost everywhere

CHORUS

I own the anthology 4cd collection and noticed that two of the tracks are:

27) Outer Space Disco (2:48).
28) Galactic Rock(2:37).

Are these the same as the disco version BG Theme?

Those two songs ('Outer Space Disco' & 'Galactic Rock') were some of the backing tracks for the casino scenes on Carillon. If the bonus track is what I think it is, it was an original release on MCA Records (I have a 12 inch of it - UK cat no. 12 MCA 415) based on the theme tune. It's a great brass-led disco track - It even inspired me to consider learning how to play the bass guitar.... sometime in the future.

All the best,
Ian W359
