There will be a new trailer airing on Sunday, Sep 28, during a repeat of Taken which starts at 9pm EST.
For those of us who are interested in FX, if there are any FX in the trailer can someone report back in this thread, for us non-U.S. folks on the quality of the FX and how much the new Galactica design sucks!
Thanks,
Peter

Peter, the FX is going to ROCK! The only shinning light in this whole travesty.

Titon, being a fan of Buffy and Angel, I know how good Zoic are. I think you summed it up very well!

I saw the two trailers. They were rather quick. The effects were great.

I know that profane language is the norm now on broadcast and cable tv, and apparently the new mini is going right along with it. IN the the new trailer did any of you notice that they even have the word @ss in it????
Just great for the kids, eh??

I've seen the trailer, I downloaded it from the 'other" site.
The space combat does seem to be done with missiles, the Cylon craft looks very much like a cross been an Andromeda Slip Fighter and an A10 Tank Buster.
The Cylons being ships themselves originated in the 2nd Coming Trailer from Richard Hatch, so when I saw it in the script and on screen it wasn't much of a surprise.
The Armistice Station design is a pile of pants, the radar dish on top reminding me a lot of something from a Gerry Anderson show from the 60s.
And was that the "Galactica' getting hit by a missile at the end? The trailer was so grainy I couldn't tell, in fact you really couldn't say it was really a progression from the last trailer that was released.
Still nothing to write home or worry about IMHO. ;)

The first trailer was bad but this one is worse. Its 2 months away before this disaster takes off.

"Takes off" isn't an expression I'd use, more like "sink like a stone".

I read before that the fx will probably be the only thing of any worth in the Abomination. After seeing the trailer, that is still a true statement!

Yes the F/X were very good but thats about it! The Trailor isnt showing what the mini is about. all its showing is what its trying to be, TOS! Get a clue Moore

I think the 1980's Casio Keyboard music is what is going to bomb.
All of the background music sounded like MIDI music...

I finally saw a TV ad on Sci Fi for the mini (not that I wanted to). The vipers simply do not look real. CGI is a neat thing but must be used sparingly if you want to convince the audience and not over-FX them. Maybe it's me, but the hulls look like standard PC fills, rather than carefully made dinged and burned and realistic as the models were. I don't mean that to be down on the artists, it's just I've never seen CGI as good as a model.
A good comparison of how noticeable CGI ships are vs models is film vs video tape. Video taped shows have that odd fake and cheesy look, or maybe I should say too stark. Film on the other hand does something undefinable to a scene, making it come alive and giving it that professional real-world feel.
In those few brief seconds of adverstising they confirmed my suspicions about how bad this mini will be. It's like an April 1st prank coming true. Such a sad thing to do to such a valuable property with /so much/ promise.

What did anyone expect when the fate of a great license was left to a French Company that sells water for high prices.
