No I'm not leaving CF. This is home. But, I have, most likely, posted my last response or article at Sci-Fi. Below are my parting remarks:

********

Probably my last post here

I have reached a point of indifference as to posting on The Sci-Fi Battlestar Galactica Bulletin Board. The constant influx of 1-shot posters with nothing more to say than 'Give it a chance' and the Original was not that good have taken their toll on my patience. The remarks are so similar they look very much like 1 person wrote them but, I know better. Something like that could NEVER happen.

Also, I've grown weary of the idiocy of remarks about the styles, both clothing and hair, from the '70s. What did you expect them to wear, Zoot suits from the '30s?? If you would think before you write, you would realize that the 'cutting edge' styles from today are VERY LIKELY to be outdated 25 years from this day.

Additionally, if you really took the time to 'listen', you would realize that the so-called 'purists' do, in fact, concede that there were some less than stellar elements about the Original Series and that we would like to see *these* elements updated or improved upon. Unfortunately, many of the 1-shot posts are designed for nothing more than to elicit a reaction, or to provoke someone. There is very little in the way of 'friendly' debate. My time is too valuable to waste in an effort to reply to someone who is not interested in debate.

I will, most likely, leave the Sci-Fi forum today, and not return. With that in mind, I will congratulate the 'Give it a chance' crowd on their victory in this battle. You have won, there is no disputing that. But, it is only 1 battle in a much larger campaign. You will now be expected to post ratings that are, at a minimum, equal to your numbers on this forum. Are you up to the challenge? While many of the so-called 'purists' will not be watching the mini-series, you can damn sure believe that we will be watching the ratings that the mini-series posts. What will they be? No one, from either side of the fence, can forecast that. You have quite a task in front of you and I, for one, do not envy you in that respect.

Best wishes. Hopefully the mini-series lives up to YOUR expectations.
