Alot of people really made some real insane jumps as to what me and the mods believe in. REAL insane. But I assume that well.... you guys just don't know us well enough. :)
I'm Tom
I admin the forums for Don. My main goal is to keep it cool enough so Don is happy with giving money from his wallet every month. And to make it a place on par with the scifi.com forums and even more friendly and true to BG fans. No corporate mindgames here! Basically if you wanna know what BG fans think and feel, you can find it here.
My personal take on the BG revival- I'm pretty much easily satisfied by anything that allows me to watch BG again. That would make me happy. I have alot of respect for the former actors and would love to see them again. But I also would enjoy a new cast. I would prefer the old guys, but new younger actors would have a higher chance of getting BG the financial backing to go into production.
My take on the mini.... looks pretty bad. BG in name only.
Personal info-
I don't give up much private info cause after I banned from a previous forum a 20-something guy who going after young 14 yr old girls he went and became an explosives expert. So now Tommy keeps things kinda on the mysterious side. ;)
But I did watch the original run of BG and loved it. SteveW has met me in real life and calls me a young boy. :D Single. I'm an illustrator. have worked doing Mickey Mouse and Scooby Doo art. Mostly pick up odd jobs now. I also use to program computers in college. Both skills make me able to come up with a pretty good design for CF. :D
BTW- this isn't my first forum. Its my second. I swore after the first I would never admin again! But well... Here I am! LOL :D

Hi, I'm Julie
people do call me Jewels IRL
I'm a graphic designer (freelance), helped with some pages for battlestarpegasus before it went down and do web pages for the Galacticon site, when I'm not saving my 2 yr old daughter from her latest mischief.
I fell in love with BSG about the 1st viper launch in 1978. I watched because John Dykstra blew my socks off with Star Wars and he was doing Special Effects for BSG. Don't ask me if I like Starbuck or Apollo more: I fell for both equally (hey, I was a teenager, it's just the age! ;) ) for different reasons and am not about to pick now. :)
I am a late-to-the-revival comer. It was already well into Moore's hands when I first surfed for BSG sites last summer (2002). I had great fun reading kobol.com, bsg.com and battlestarpegasus.com before I followed Michael's link to this place. And I only followed it because something scientific in one of Richard's books bugged me. Raymar and Eldriam were having this heavy intellectual discussion on archetypical figures on the old review thread, I recall. I liked the intellect I saw there.
My revival stance: If it is faithful to what Glen, Leslie, Don Bellasario and the writers and cast of the original (78-79) series began: I'll check it out. IMO, RDM has missed the whole point, his show entirely lacks anything Galactica beyond the Viper launch tube for me, so I plan to not watch. Mr. Olmos gave fine advice, as far as I am concerned. My DVD order was in before that several day glitch at Amazon.
I could see from what Richard wrote plus the tiny bit of fanfic I'd read that the possibilities for continuing this story that I'd loved as a kid were without limitation. I make no secret that I enjoyed Richard's books. They're fun. I've not seen the trailer and have no reference point to his actual vision for his continuation beyond his books.
I see a lot of wisdom (marketing wisdom) in doing the type of revival that (as I understand it) both Hatch and Desanto were working towards: using old cast to bridge into the next generation of warriors.
I enjoyed X-men and X2 and think Tom Desanto has his head on straight about dealing with another's creation, an existing lore & fanbase, respecting them and growing them into the 21st century. Hollywood runs on marketing (if anything runs that place) so backing a producer with 1 blockbuster under their belt (and another "on the way") is something I can understand TPTB seeing as viable. The man can tell a story that a non-fan can thoroughly enjoy. If I would have had to pick between the 2 at that point: I'd have gone with Tom, for those very pragmatic reasons.
But by the time I stepped into the fray, RDM's script was well underway. I'd have given him a chance too, at first. I liked TNG and chances are: the episodes I liked he probably had a hand in. TNG should have disciplined him into respecting the fanbase (the bread and butter if you're in marketing).
The day the "Starbuck is a girl" casting info leaked: I knew all was lost on RDM understanding our show. My favorite factoid about that time: the same weekend the most recent James Bond movie did about $40 million box office. If that 40 year old franchise's cliche'd womanizer still works--why mess with Starbuck?
I still hope that a continuation effort can be remounted by capable hands: any of the following or any combo of them would be fine: Larson, Hatch and Desanto.
I want to see Starbuck and Apollo in action again--not Kara and Lee. And real Cylons--scary ones like Raymar has on his website would be fine. But I want them to look mechanical not humaniod. :)

My name is Shawn and I'm dumb as a stump. LMAO
Sorry. I'm a part time mod and a full time mother of 33 kids, no wait a second................ Sorry I lied because I'm a full time mod not part time. I'm a musician who plays lead guitar and sings for a band that is in post production of our second album. Now every one is going to think that's a lie too but that one is true. I started Radio Galactica and haven't ran it for way to long now because I'm working on some new projects for it and want to have them finished first before I start it up again.
I like music sci fi and as all my friends would tell you, I'm a huge nut over Battlestar Galactica.
My sign is Libra and I like long walks on the beach during a Massive hurricane. If you are interested in dating me, just call 555=5555. If I'm not home , feel free to leave a message with my wife and I will get back to you .

My name is Al. I watched BSG from its original run when I was only 10 years old. What a magical time! I have always contended that BSG was my all-time favorite show; was, used to be, currently still is!!
I was lost in the wilderness in BSG circles (meaning I did not hear a thing from the francshise) until 1996 when I saw the new Trendmasters toy line. Wondered what was up with that if they were producing new toys. I thought that there might be a new BSG in the works.
Nothing happened until 1998 when I found all the BSG websites and the bboard at Sci-Fi. I bought Richard's first book and the rest is history. I have been involved with the revival since early 1998 even founding a revival website called Battlestar Callisto. We now exlusively focus on role playing in a loose interpretation of Richard Hatch's continuation storyline (before the Pegasus showed up!).
In real life (there's more to life than BSG?) I am the director of the broadcasting program of a small college where my students run an FM radio station. Married and have two beautiful daughters with one more little Warrior on the way!

I'm Michelle. I deduce that the question is along the lines of who are you, and how did a guy/girl like you wind up in a place like this. (I'm kidding!)
About a year and a half ago ago, (Is that all? So much has happened!) I worked at a site called Renderosity. We were doing the digital art show at Dragoncon, and while checking out the guest list for potenital CG interviews, I noticed Richard Hatch as a guest. I remembered being a big Galactica fan in the day, and looked up his site.
When I saw the Great War of Magellan site, it just blew me away. It clicked something in my head, and I *knew* that this was going to be huge. (I admit it- I'm a bigger Magelan fan than Galactica, right from the first minute I saw it.) Well, that year I was coming back from disaster, defeat and depression, and I had vowed to be brave and try things I would have never done before. So I wrote the webmaster at Magellan a letter, asking if I could put together a portfolio of our better Rosity artists to send in. Richard himself contacted me, and I met him at last year's Dragoncon, and made the presentation. I had never done anything like it, and I still don't beleive I had the nerve! The rest was history.
I was also contacted by Darrell at around that time (I don't remember exactly when) and asked to mod at Fleets. (It was Hito's idea, actually.)
Since then I've become a member of the world of BG fandom, with mixed success. I admit to not being accustomed to internet only interaction as much as some, but I'm learning. I truly appreciate the friends I have made here.
I think the mini is very poorly done. I think Richard has the right idea for a continuation, as far as his general view of the proper way to carry on an existing story to preserve the integrity of the story line. I don't care who does it as long as it maintains this integrity.
I am 37, single, and like long walks on short piers. (Everyone needs a hobby.) ;)

Hi;:p
I'm 35, programmer, Portuguese and working in central africa.
I don't post much because i have some times trouble putting what i think in English. I tryed BabelFish and...well... let's say the results where funny :D
I cant remember exactly when i first saw BSG, but it was betwen '79 and '82 and i loved the show. In '82 i went to Africa with my parents and only heard about BSG around '88, after i returned to Portugal to finish my studies, when i started collecting sci-fi books.
Now i can't remember exactly how it happened, but in '99 or 2k i find myself in the Universal Forum, talking BSG with BatGal, and from there..............
That RDM series, IMHO, is not BSG. May be good, may be bad, but i don't see it as BSG. It's that simple. No Starbuck+no Boomer+no Cylons = NOT BSG.
I'll support any project that honors the original, and i don't mean i want Disco and 70's hair :p
And I  :devil:AC/DC:devil:
:D
