I agree with those who have suggested a letter writing campaign at the new skiffy board.

But we'll need to do it right. No online petition, no emails, just real, honest-to-God pen-and-paper letters. It has to be timed right, it has to have a time frame, and it has to have as close to 100% fan participation as humanly possible.

I'm not sure that now is the time for such a campaign. Hatch has said that DeSanto and Larson can't do anything until the mini airs.

So be it.

I think we need target the early weeks of January 2004 (after the Christmas season), Vivendi-Universal's mailroom (or whomever owns Universal at that point), with a barrage of letters and postcards supporting a DeSanto/Larson feature film continuation of the real BSG.

We can use the documented performance of the mini, whatever that may be, as part of our case. But we will have to, as a fanbase, decide what our message is going to be, and remain unified in expressing that message.

I think this plan needs to be formalized prior to Galacticon (which I cannot, unfortunately, afford to attend) so that the word can be spread among the attendees, to check here, CA, and CF (if it exists) for updates on the plan.

I want to see tens of thousands of letters in Universal's mailroom before 1 February 2004. I want to put the '68 "Save STAR TREK" campaign to shame.

I want to speak with one voice, loud and clear.

Does anyone agree? Should we, can we, make this happen?

(I posted this at the Skiffy BSG2, CA, and Subspace, but it needs to be widespread if we're going to, prior to Galacticon, identify a target date for the first letters to hit the Universal mailroom.)

We can make this happen if we all come together. It's worth the effort!
