Richard Hatch hates the mini. He has financial backing (Sony is my guess) or atleast access to it (and still does). He has proven himself as a great promoter and public relations person. He can galvanise support from ordinary fans and from entertainment industry professionals.
Glen Larson hates the mini. He owns the movie rights to the WHOLE BG universe (screw Universal). He has a long history of producing shows some good some more not so good. He and Richard Hatch are "friends"(according to Richard Hatch's latest interview).
Tom Desanto was abused by Universal (USA NETWORK, SCI FI Channel)
and had the rug pulled out from under him.
Richard Hatch endorsed Tom Desanto's vision for BG. (I would hope Tom would recognise Richards efforts.) Tom Desanto has been talking to Glen Larson about a possible BG movie.
So we have Glen with the movie rights to the WHOLE BG universe. No need to consult Universal and to hell with what happens with the mini. Richard Hatch with available financial backing (Sony) and a natural role promoting a continuation, like Moore and Eick are doing with the mini, and the ability to motivate top industry talent to come to him to help out.
We have Tom Desanto the young hot producer writer that is on a winning streak with X Men 2 and the kind of "young" talent studios like to hire.
All I can say is Glen Tom and Richard work it out and lets get going with the BG movie.
