I read the article ............I think them personally
attacking Olmos was wrong since he didn't write
the script. At least he was honest in saying
not to watch it and standing up to Hammer.

I don't think the article attacking the fans or
the BSG series was the right way to go.

If the author of the article wanted to attack
something how about the REMAKE in general?
Let's say .......the wanton SEX, VIOLANCE,
the BLAME AMERICA speeches, the total bashing
of the military ...........the poor
PLOT line (not to mention the fact that the
Gallactica flag was changed from the
variations of the six pointed star to a fire
bird a refugee from AI! ), and the fact that
neither Bonnie Hammer or Ron Moore cared
about the FANS who kept BSG alive in the first
place.

It's not the fan's fault that Ron Moore and
Bonnie Hammer are more interested in
SEX, LIES and VIDEOTAPE then they are
in doing their jobs CORRECTLY!

Cool, Jerry Lewis shagged Norma Jean! One can only hope Sci-Fi is ready to wash their hands...it would be a smart move.

I love being part of this pathetic living in Mom's basement nerd herd!

Aw, is it little old insignificant us that's causing Ms. Hammerhead and her cronies some indigestion?

To that end, I say bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....you ain't tasted nothin' till you've had some of our double chocolate cake -- there's a secret ingredient (and I ain't tellin'!!!).

Let's go Insignificant Ones!! We may be few (ha ha ha) but, we are Mighty!!

Good, I'm glad we are getting to them. We may be few but our voices are being heard!
Hammer and faction wouldn't listen to the existing fan base back then, ( that in itself may prove to be their undoing). Maybe now hind sight puts thing into perspective. I'd rather be a thorn in their side than a blind follower, so starved for something Galatica that I'd throw aside the convictions that made Battlestar Galatica worth the long fight.
Insignificant... I think not. I also think the faction is getting scared.Better to retreat now and save face than let the mini blow up in their face.

Well, if the author wasn't such a superior and condescending SOB, it might have been worth my 60 seconds. Still, it will be nice to see heads roll over at SlyFry.

In the immortal words of the ultimate slacker, loser, Jeff Spicoli, from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, "I'm so wasted!"
Mr. Muck Raker got a lot wrong. BG DID rerun on the network, and then in syndication. (Not to mention Skiffy back when it was a real Scifi network. BG was one of their premiere shows!) I've got the videotapes to prove it!
I find it amusing that anyone who has a passion for something, anything, and remains loyal to a vision, show, or person is labeled odd, a loser. Could that be a problem with our great nation today, with marriage, not to mention the entertainment industry? No loyalty!
Bye,
I'll go back to my work now at a Community Action Agency,
Carolyn

Thank you goldcenturian. Mr. Muck Raker KNEW
he was WRONG .........He lied on purpose. He just
wanted to lable all bsg fans as LOSERS. He tried
and he failed.

Good to see you again Gold Centurian.........I think he did get a lot wrong too.
And taking a second look this starts the fire burning again:

A) BSG was never rerun and didn't deserve to be. :wtf:

Now I know that guy is way off his rocker :D

You can take your pick of losers in this saga.

A) First you've got the sorry sect who've devoted 25 years of their existence corresponding to other non-entities about Battlestar Galactica, a show which didn't even last one season, was never rerun and didn't deserve to be.
That lame butt bastid! Why, the noyve of him! :rage:

I wonder if the author this article was sent a copy of the sales reports for the TOS DVD's?

I had forgotten all about this guy, to tell you the truth... even though I remember reading that POS last year. But, I do believe now that I will be sending him a CFF Color Ad Postcard.

Its just a comedy piece. I thought it was amusing. Most comedy is cruel to someone.

But as Dr Bellows once said, "(I'm happy with it) just as long as its not me"

" . . . His Bodys de com posing in my lah ker."

?

:nervous: ;)

As much as I appreciate the possible victory from one stance, I must say that there are those of us who still love the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA as well. If we are given the rub, then my faith in Battlestar Galactica fandom will be sorely diminished.

I would see it as nothing more than hardcore classic fans taking their vengeance out on fans of the new show, who had nothing to do with their displeasure, save for the fact that these people enjoyed the new Battlestar Galactica.

I love the original Galactica. I want it to be continued, truly remade, or whatever it takes to bring the original flavor back. But, on the same token, I would NOT appreciate it if the new Galactica that I love equally were yanked off the air because other people said: "This ain't my Galactica!"

The new Galactica has been made. Let it run its course. If it succeeds, it succeeds. No need for sour grapes. If it fails, it fails. Oh, well. The new Galactica is not a life threatening event.

The original Galactica continuation seems to be waiting in the wings. When it does happen, then everyone will be happy.

I don't rain on your parade. Please don't rain on mine. Focus on the classic revival. If you don't like the new show...don't watch. If the show honestly fails, then great. If the show fails because of posturing, petitioning, and other, more forceful means...well, then we have a problem.

There are far worse things in the world to be protested against.

Respectfully,
Martok2112 (fan of both BATTLESTARs GALACTICA!)

What prompted this old post coming back to the foreground?

This is old news from a more bitter time.

CommanderTaggart

Martok... I agree with you, in theory. But the coming of the RDM show has threatened the continuation so many of us want. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but the RDM show has postponed true Galactica for a minimum of several years. Me, personally, I don't care if Richard and Dirk are in their 80's, so long as they are in the continuation. But, after 25 years... they're not getting any younger. And their already strained credulity in represing their roles will become more of an issue in the ensuing years... though not an insurmountable issue.

I'm glad you like the new show. I'm glad you're getting your series. But your sunshine has caused rain on my parade. The RDM show shouldn't have been made, I will never back off from that opinion. A different title, a different ship, different names for the characters... and it would just be another lousy contemporary SciFi show, IMHO. But they exploited the name with zero respet for the source material and created a "life-threatening" delay, if you're talking about the life of the only show I recognize as Battlestar Galactica.

I apologize for my previous post. It was late...I wasn't thinking to clearly to begin with. (A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks that has put me in quite the depressed state...although this is nowhere to detail such things). The last thing on my mind should be whether or not the new Galactica even survives...let alone Galactica at all. (Not intended to sound snide.) :)

Sorry for any shake up that may have stirred. I'm still a Galactica fan, regardless of which incarnation that I like, but for right now, I think I just depressed myself into apathy about the whole thing.

Crawling back into the cave for a while,
Martok2112

Don't ever apologize for sharing your opinion, Martok. We may not agree on nuGalactica, but I have a lot of respect for you, and I enjoy reading your posts. I'm sorry you've been having a rough time... being depressed is no fun. I've been there, myself, many a time. I hope that things get better for your soon.

Thank you all for your kind words. It has brightened my day. My respect and kinship for all of you is mutual. If I hear good news from Pennsylvania, perhaps I will land like the cat, on all fours.

Commander Taggart, Amberstar, thank you both. :salute: Thomas, those tribbles...water under the bridge...for now.

I will keep you posted in the Galactica cafe as to what is up with my music life.

As for how this got dredged up again....let's think on it no more. As fans of Galactica, regardless of where we stand, there is nowhere to go but forward.

Thank you all again for brightening my day. :salute: :)
