Here's the real story. Bonnie Hammer has friends in high places at Warner Brothers and she persuaded them to bring in Ronald D Moore for the movie treatment. Ronald D Moore has stated his idea on how to make The Dukes of Hazard more politically correct for today's audiences.
Brittany Spears will in fact be playing Bo Duke because Moore felt that the original Bo was too much of a cliche and decided to work his gender bender magic on him or shall I say her.
Luke Duke will basically be the same.
Bo will now be a sexy hot blonde
Ron had made this version more politically correct by adding sexual tension and possibly incest between the two cousins.
Both Bo and Luke will have a bad relationship with their Uncle Jesse (Jack Nicholson) who in this version is a crazy 24/7 Moonshine drinking old hillbilly.
Enos (Brad Pitt) will have a crush on Bo Duke but still manage to hump every female traffic violator he pulls over.
Sheriff Roscoe (Arnold Shwarzenegger) will be a clever, skillful and dangerous cop who gives the Dukes more than a run for their money. Ronald D Moore has described him as being a human version of the Terminator.
Boss Hogg (Danny Devito) is an unwilling victim who is constantly being sexually seduced by his seductress banker Ms Lulu Belle (ex porn star Traci Lords).
The seductress Lulu Belle is in fact the mastermind behind the corruption in Hazard County.
Cooter (Beyonce Knowles) appears to be a close friend of Bo and Luke Duke but in fact she is a spy for Ms Lulu Belle. Cooter will be the mistress sabator of the General Lee. Yes Cooter is also going to be a women in this version. Ron Moore stated that he felt this change was necessary because women make just as good of an auto mechanic as men do.
Ronald D Moore is confident that this movie will bring in a new audience for this franchise and to please the original fans as well. In fact he says this version will be better than that corny television series from the 80s. His pitch to the studio is to portray a realistic car jumping and police chases videos within the movie along with split screens and shaky cam corders that will be installed in the General Lee and in the police cars as well. Just think of this as a big screen version of Fox's wildest police videos caught on film.
