Well, it looks like they're trying real hard to get people to join. They're having a poll for Hyperspace members to be able to determine the color of a droid in Episode III.
And they're now offering a 10 day free trial.

They can KEEP their '7' day free trial membership!
And I really don't care what color the droid is
to tell the truth.

George Lucas is a money grubbing flannel shirt wearing toy salesman. He no longer cares about telling a good story. He just uses the new Star Wars movies as a digital portfolio and to advertise his new line of toys.
Save Star Wars and bring back Gary Kurtz!
Now he wants to charge people to log in to Star Wars.com?
I guess having billions of dollars isn't enough fulfillment for him.
