Hi All,

I got a press release in my E-Mail yesterday for me to mention at Sci Fi Pulse. I thought I would also refer to it here as well, so that as many people get to know as possible.

Basically 'Profiles In History' in collaboration with the internet Auction site E-Bay are holding a hug auction on the 30 of this month.

The auction will contain authentic costumes and props which were used in Battlestar Galactice and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Also up for grabs to the highest bidder is the Superman costume as worn by the late George Reeves in the 1950 TV series.

For a full list of what is on offer as well as appropriate links to the exact location of the auction as well as links to the Profiles In History website use the link below.

Speaking of auctions, perhaps we could put Moore, Hammer, et al, up for auction? I hear they need slaves in some parts of the world. If not, maybe a medical school somewhere needs cadavers...?

I read an article in TV Guide about a guy who collects TV costumes and props. He has the "the batphone", West & Ward's Batman & Robin costumes. the New York cityscape backdrop from "Late Night With David Letterman", the enitre set from "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson"(which was sold to him by Johnny himself), amongst other things. This would be right up his alley. If I win the Washington State Lotto($23 million) tomorrow, I want Starbuck's uniform. I'll also take Adama's uniform, since Mr. Greene's no longer with us. It should be worth some serious coin.

A friend of mine at work introduced me to 'Profiles In History' a few years ago as we both share a love for film and sci-fi memorabilia and has been getting the auction guides in the mail ever since winning a bid for an item that PIF was auctioning.

I saw the original post for this topic last night and I had made a mental note to tell him this morning at work. I was trying to do so, but he kept interrupting me and saying "I have something to show you..." I responded to him: "Just let me finish what I was gonna tell you first"

He then pulls out the new PIF auction guide and on the cover was both the gold and silver Cylon costumes from BSG and Twiki from 'Buck Rogers' in the middle. I was so excited! There were literally pages and pages in full color of costumes, models, props, drawings, scripts, etc... from both BSG & BR alone - along with many other items from various other Sci-Fi productions from both the big and small screens.

It really was a treat to glimpse at and I thanked my buddy for the wonderful gift. I will have to sit down and take my time going through it.

best regards,
Bryan
