View Full Version : What would make you watch the New show?

Would it be the fact that Bonnie Hammer said that you don't count? How about all those digs that Ron got in over the last year with his interviews? Lets see, we campaign for years, finally they get a show under way and it's the opposite of what we want because all of what we have done as a fan base is ignored.
How about bonnie saying that all the groups that they tested, were excited about the new show(Even though there was no proof of any such group but we could provide many URLs for groups that do exist and are all against the new version).

Just what will it take to make us watch Ron’s version of Galactica?
Could it be the fabricated fan base for Ron's production that showed up together at the exact right time to thwart our efforts?

No? Gee what's it going to take to make us watch this new show?

It can't be a well written, updated continuation with some of the original actors back to play older versions of their characters because as every one knows, we would have to change their hair to the 70s look and if this show became big again, there would be children all over the world singing it's love, love, love.

Could you imagine?

Gee, after all that sci fi has done for us and we still won't watch.
We should be grateful that they took the time to single us out and insult us. We should appreciate that they fought so hard against us and they are going to be spending millions of dollars on something that we despise.

I guess the sci fi channels reasoning would be( there are more fans of other sci fi shows then Galactica so if we call it Battlestar Galactica and rip off the other sci fi shows, then we will get all the viewer).

I personally don't think this way and I guess that's why I don't get paid the big bucks. lol

Isn't sarcasm a lovely way to get your point across?

because of the curiosity factor. As soon as I hear something stupid (probably from the mouth of Starbuck chic) I'll turn it off in disgust. This will most-likely occur within the first 8 minutes.

Public backlash will happen soon after it airs. The press will pick at the show's carcass, comparing it to the successful original. Then we can consider the Moore remake on the same plane as Galactica 1980. Hopefully Team DeSanto will make a move for his version when the dust settles a bit.

Wow, I'm actually optimistic!

A Few things, actually.

Really, you say? What would they be?

1:) A Large Pistol aimed at my head.

2:) A Lobotomy

3:) A Death Threat against my Daughters.

Those would really be the only thing that would make me tune in to watch Moore vivisect Galactica.

That Night, I plan on Popping up a huge load of popcorn, probably get a 6 pack and a bottle of Tequila, and break out my favorite episodes of the TOS.

Then, I'll have no choice to miss night one, because If I'm not hung over from night one, I'll be out Xmas shopping...

A live telecast of a steam roller crushing every bone in Ronald D. Moore's body into piping hot tar. That would make it worthwhile. Although I would feel sorry for those who would have to clean up the mess. Yikes, get the bio-hazard suits out.

I can't think of a thing, short of some of the options that LSF came up with, that would make me watch the Abomination...

Like others, I will take that time to pull out my favorite episodes to watch during that time.

And I will remember and know that what I have in front of me is worthwhile and good.

And the piece of trash the Abomination is is just that. An abomination.

Whatever night it comes on, I will be sitting with a big bowl of popcorn watching my OS BSG tapes and loving every centon of it ;)

There are a few things you don’t do around me, mess with my daughter, play with my computers, kick my dog, tell me I don’t count or mess with BSG.

When the new show airs I’m going to tape it. Then I am going to have a transfusion, replacing my warm red blood with ice water. After that I will sit down with a note pad and make notes on every point of every scene. From that will follow a detailed, point-by-point analysis of this rubbish.

It’s going to get very cold in my office.

Like repcisg, when it airs in England I'll tape it and do a review.

Can't watch what WON'T be on. By all accounts, Battlestar Galactica WILL NOT be televised this December. Now, there apparently will be some shameless, ego-driven, poke you in the eye 4 hour "event", televised by Sci-Fi, that has the same moniker.

Sorry, I don't watch shows, based on the name. I watch shows based on the content.

So, you can count me out and that is not a threat, THAT IS A PROMISE!!

BTW OWD, the "short answer" to the title of this thread:

Absolutely nothing!

The Malcolm McDowell behaviour modification would be about the only way I'd be made to watch.

I just needed to say that I'm SOOOOOO glad I changed my screen name. Both times.

As for me watching this show, it's not going to happen. I work evenings and don't get home til 10 sometimes, so to watch anything in Prime Time requires the effort of setting the VCR, and something has to really catch my interest for me to bother with the VCR. This has done the opposite of catching my interest.

C'mon guys, surely you want to have a little peek at it?

I've been extremely disappointed also at the way things have turned out too, but heck, I still want to see how it turns out, good or bad! Then again, I love my sci fi in general and will watch almost anything....

How could you resist? It should be good for a laugh at the very least! :D For those of you not watching, could you tape it for me and send it over here?

Bring on 'Battlestar Galactica: The Motion Picture', produced by T. Desanto, directed by R. Hatch....

Hmmm what would get me to watch....

Liv Tyler just happens to be in Enid Oklahoma and walks through my apartment door with a bottle of Frogs Leap Merlot. She straddles me on the couch while I'm watching HBO's Inside the NFL.

"Ooohhh Jon your so hot. You know what would really get my spine glowing, Ron Moore's new Battleship Galactica"

I change the channel to Sci-Fi....neither of us are "watching" right? Her back is to the TV and I'm watching her ti...errr teeth.

Gotta go....cold shower.

Like LSF: about the only thing that would make me watch it would be someone with a gun to my head or making a threat toward my spouse or little girl.

By Dec. I will have already seen the only real "new" Galactica I'll see this year: the BSG:TSC trailer at Galacticon.

I'll sit down those nights in december & watch my tapes and thoroughly enjoy the craftsmanship and the talent that came together to make it such a wonderful TV show. One which was not bound by the time it was created in.

The hardest thing will be narrowing my selection down to 4hours out of the 24 :)

You know? I signed up at the sci-fi board before all of this started here and I just never went back. I don't even have the url any more. I guess I have missed out on some juicy stuff, huh. Give me the url where all of this is going on...I am curious.

I would watch if somebody was willing to give me cash to do so!

Honestly, I'm not even mildly curious to see this production. I read the script and didn't care for the new approach. It's that simple.

This is after all a TV show. I am not so "hopelessly addicted to all things Galactica" that I would watch the new mini when the script just left me cold.

I actually thought of two things that would make me watch this show.

1) If Peter Wingfield was on it, I'd watch it. I can't help it, I'm helplessly in love with the guy (if you don't know who he is, he played Methos in the Highlander Series - and he was in X-Men 2 as Stryker's chief non-mutant henchman).

2) A lobotomy. I suppose if I got a lobotomy I might watch it because I wouldn't know better.................
