Just remember: Set your phasers on "fun."
Methinks I'll be doing something else the night that show airs. It's too bad Paramount doesn't kickstart a reality show where Trek fans get together (via a special lottery?), plot a script for a Trek show and film it (using virtual sets) with industry professionals. The actual show can be ten minutes; the rest of the time would showcase the development process.
The ten minute episode would revolve around a starship from a set period within Trek lore. (TOS, TOS movie era, TNG/DS9/VOY, or ENT.) There would be parameters established upfront for the fans to work within. It could also consist of a couple of shows where the audience votes on teams of Trek fans to determine which one has the best script/concept idea -- and that one gets filmed/aired.
I think it would be a cool idea. Expensive, but cool.
