I have seen the debate put fervently by the Continuation Crowd for the horror that Ron Moore has created from the original Galactica. As someone who always tries help those in need, I will give you some advice on how to try to effectively change the format of the show.
1. Take out an ad in an entertainment magazine or even a major newspaper about what your issues with the new production.
2. Write letters to the many media outlets about your issues with the new production.
3. Write letters to Universal Studios.
4. Write letters to companies that sponser the Sci Fi Network
5. Organize a protest rally at the production studio. The address is on my website.
6. Organize a protest rally at Universal Studios.
7. Organize a protest rally at the Sci Fi Channel.
8. Have one of your industry insiders appear on E! or another media outlet talking about the destruction of the original series.
With a concerted effort by fans of the original series, you maybe able to change public opinion to your favor. Let them know of how Starbuck has been changed to woman. Let them know how dysfunctional the Adama family is. Let them know about the explicit sex in the new series.
The more people who here your stand against the production and your reasons why, the better your chance is in changing the format.
Sincerely,
Captain James

Good ideas- we've been doing our own awareness campaign for some time. Care to jump on the bandwagon? Shall I put you down for the protest rally at the scifi channel, or the production studio?

Nah, he can say what he wants. I'm just going by track record, and what I've seen is a person who doesn't do anything without an ulterior motive- to cause trouble in any way possible. I don't take anything that one says seriously.

Milton, you lost any shread of credibility with me eons ago...I find your recent posts here both humorous and disturbing. I don't know who you are nor do I care, but you don't give a rat's ass about Galactica, old OR new, and I'm sick of you pretending that you do.

I'm sorry, but even in his apparent magnanimity, I still see someone trying to cause trouble. Case in point are items 6 and 7. A knowledgable friend in the industry told me long ago that you don't pull a stunt like that unless you can be sure you have hundreds or preferably even thousands (yes, thousands!) of people show up. If you have just a few, as would be probable since we like all over the country, a rally only serves to discredit those holding it.

Exactly!
And guess what? If everyone here said "yeah, let's do it! Protest! March!" good 'ole Cappy would run over to the PTB and scifi board yelling about PROOF POSITIVE, these people are destructive whackos, nevermind cyberterrorism! And we will have walked right into it... fortunately no one here is still shaking off the turnips.

Can I say something....
Can we stop this arguing over who did or is doing what? The point here is that we should protest the people involved with the production, their sponsers and others who financially effect the show.
Anything else is petty details that ain't worth arguing about.
Focus people! Don't spend all your energy arguing. Write a protest email. Or have fun here. But bickering just makes our happy forum a frustrating energydraining pit.

Milton,
Based on your past dealings with the, as you call it, Continuation Crowd, I consider this 'how-to' list to be a personal affront. Although I would like to say something else, I won't insult the integrity of this forum by speaking my mind. However, according to the way I was taught by my parents, I will thank you for taking the time to type the note. But, that's it!

This thread is a good example, if we spent our energy writting TPTB instead of engaging MooreRons we would be much better off.
Frack...I've responded in this Frelling thread(did I say that right?)

okay you guys. I'm all for protesting the new version. But this is just becoming a pick on milton thread. And that serves no good purpose. It doesn't do anything except it makes us look bad.
