View Full Version : If they are trying to make us look stupid

Then I would say they are succeeding. The latest "revelation" from Mr. Eick regarding the the infamous prequel is nothing more than a kick in the f***ing teeth. Looks like they have all the bases covered folks and we're running out of options quickly.
It would really help our credibility if someone came forward with with some genuine facts that support the alleged production problems and overall instability with the production that Mr. Moore experienced recently. I think we would also be curious to learn what type of tactics he used to get Universal to do an about face if in fact his production was on its way to being turned over to other, more capable hands. And obviously we'd love to know the identity of the the person or persons who nearly yanked the rug from under Ron.
Or was this all disinformation? If so, what was their motive?
Anyone have any insight?

3rd,
I would suspect that any such credible info would reveal it's source and lose someone a job at this point. Or cause legal fallout.
This is a weird one: The game being a prequel. I think I remember some news about that way before Treklord's poll (which occurred mid-Jan). Like maybe a month before, so mid-Dec? Game direction would have been a done deal by the time Treklord posted her poll if I have that chronology right. (when does the game release again?)
Methinks there be some blame-shifting occurring. But if they indeed are filming for the mini and it has Uni's blessing--WHY BOTHER WITH US?
But then if it has Universal's blessing: why no press release/press kit until mid-May? I mean they did a teaser, almost irresponsible not to have the press kits ready to roll when you had the press' attention for Children of Dune. (as someone that does graphics for a living: those time-sensitive projects nearly always have reasons for not happening on time: Usually a high up applying the brakes for some reason. Makes me think something did happen in Jan/Feb/Mar or those kits or something like them would have been ready in March, IMHO).
The ID of the person that nearly pulled the rug out: I'm guessing a suit that has either got some common sense or has an idea what this franchise could be worth, if a revival was done right and well. We're not likely to ever know their name. (but if you exist, whoever you are, thanks for trying).
This of course assumes there was a person(s). As the above paragraph assumes a press kit would have been planned to roll with the 1st teaser broadcast. I forgot, this is Hollywood: logic is a questionable commodity. LOL
Never realized it was so fun to spin doctor. For the sake of asking about truth: I doubt this "David's" name most of all. Did I tell you Scully was my favorite X-File character? ;)
KTF,

might be time for another round of letters? And follow up with X2 ticket stubs? Hmmm.

One thing I'd like to point out that this e-mail came from what I consider a suspect source. It was in Milton's newsletter NOT on the SFC site. It was backed by a board post. Nothing was an official announcement. We don't know for sure who this is.
If the production is in trouble, that will come out in time. Patience is often a virtue. If everything is as this latest claim says, then our credibility doesn't matter. TPTB have ditched us in favor of the MTV crowd as it is. Our credibility in thier eyes doesn't matter.
