mcjames sites are always offline (almost always)

The website exceeds its bandwidth because every Neo and Retro is trying to pull it up at the same time. Unfortunately, this leads to website being offline. I just went their and saw the pics myself. Try it now since the initial rush has probably slowed.

Due to the geocites bandwidth issue, I have uploaded the pics on SciFiMan's website update thread. The forum has more bandwidth than the website and it gives more people a chance to see the new Moore Cylon.

Well that's offensive.
Anyone notice the aterisk on the sheet that says "based on research from December 2002?" That "research" must be the Treklord series of questions, only it's all skewed. It refers to 46% interest in a game. Except it ignores how almost all of those queried stated they wanted a game based on the original series.
It talks about "thousands of loyal and active fans" only fails to mention that those fans are almost unanimously opposed to what's being done with the property. Seems there was a famous poll conducted during December of 2002, the results of that aren't mentioned. Must have been a misprint.
Thanks for the link Apothis, it's nice to know the bait and switch is still in full swing.

Yes AO , We were listened to the same way we have always been. If they wanted to know how the majority felt, they would have went to the online petition with over 16700 but they listen to the few that agree with what they want to do and they use that to justify there actions.

I can't see it, what am I missing?
The first link showd a ship that looked like a decapitated Galactica, but no Cylon, and the second link was a message board.
I wanna see the Cylon. Waaa.

Old boy looks like he can tear some stuff apart.
I dont think this is the design that will appear in the G03 tho since they are described as classic in appearance.
This design looks less refined than the original cylons so i see it as a predacessor.
I do like the savage aspect of this design, especially around the claws and the almost furrowed brow around the scanner.

Personally, I think Lee Stringer's Cylon and Ken Thomson's Cylons could shred that new construct. ;) The lead designer of this new Cylon wrote me yesterday. We're discussing an interview right now.
I was fascinated to see the sheet stating "thousands of loyal and active fans: BattlestarGalactica.com, Colonial Fleets.com, (The)Galactican.com and several more."
Where the FRACK is the mention of BattlestarFanClub.com??

Those long, horror-movie-like arms seem to be taken from those sketches more than a year ago that were posted at Dark Horizons. Those were the bio-Cylons that Singer had in mind, if I'm not mistaken. I remember posting about how I thought they looked like something from a Clive Barker movie. The original Cylons definitely need improvement around the hockey gloves, but this new image didn't do anything for me. Did the head look too small? But this is only the video game, so it doesn't matter really.

The arms are a bit too long for my tastes as well.
And seem impractical if they are gonna be flying ships.
But i like the hands.

MooreRon needed 6 of 9, I mean how can these Human-Built Robo-Shredders be expected to give a decent Handjob.
So, these guys are the Big, dumb silent type (read Glorified Props) and the Silicone Boob Suspension System gets all the dialog...
Geez...

OMG! What IS that? It looks like a cross between a Cylon and Edward Scissorhands!

The long arms and hands seem out of place on this design. I would rather see at least one of the hands as a firing weapon. Too much Freddy Kreuger in that Cylon.
Overall, not to bad tho.

...sure look too much like those from the original series. It offends me that they continue to rip-off the classic designs for their garbage production. They just don't get it: the look of a few props won't get the original fans back. BSG was about more than the hardware. In fact, the closeness of these designs are simply meant to tie into the videogame, which they hope fans of the original will buy. I was going to buy a system just for this game, but I refuse to play anything where the name "Husker" is involved. What will be seen on-screen will be radically different from these photos that Milton and his cult are getting so excited over. Besides, didn't Moore already say that the original design of the GALACTICA was considered, but rejected? If that's the case, what's this picture doing here? Easy: just more promotional material for the videogame. It's easy to write-off the original fans for the miniseries, but we're not so easy to ignore when it comes to the idea of paying $60 or more for a videogame. Well, it will take more than this to get me to part with my money. Screw Moore/Eick/Hammer/Milton and this whole fiasco!

That is what the Cylon reminds me of. There was a creature in there with long arms and a huge head.

I am not a retro either. Just a fan hoping that they will see the light and give us a continuation with Hatch and the rest. :warrior:

Retro is a term invented by the Miltonites to describe anyone who is a proponent of the ol.. or... only BSG. They conversely call themselves neos, as in fans of the ne... mock Galactica.
I think better terms are 'Galactican' (us) and 'Mooreite' (fans exclusvely of that other production which hasn't got it's own name and is still trying to play off the real series.)

That's the term that the Moore fans coined to refer us as.
I would say what they call them selves but I refuse to use these words because they are the opposite of each other and it makes it sound like the Galactica fans are split when we are not. We are first and foremost, Galactica fans. They are Moore fans. That's why we are siding with the show Battlestar Galactica and want any new production to not re-do our show or try to re-create our show.
They are Moore fans because even though he changed at least 95% of the show, they are still behind it because of Ronald D. Moore.
That's fine because we are all entitled to feel however we wish.

is the saying that was floating around about a year or so ago. Remember when everything from the 60's and 70's was "retro":
retro clothing, retro cars... whatever.

That is still an oversimplification.
Why just because i like the script do i have to be lumped in to the group that admitidly are just following moore?
Especially since I was a fan of Galactica before moore was even an issue?

I was not impressed with the proposed new Cylon design.
People need to learn that ugly does not = threatening.
Anyway, the Cylons don't need to look too scary. 'Galactica' is a space opera, not a horror flick.

That's why I said "'Mooreite' (fans *exclusvely* of that other production...)
....meaning ones who don't know anything about TOS, haven't seen it, and don't want to. Not people who just like both.
