Yep, that's right. I've decided to go back to just being loveable. Not because I have any respect for them as a group (which I don't) or because I think there's merit in dealing with them any more (which I also don't) but just because its not going to accomplish anything by further repeating what pond scum I think they are.

Its not a group I wish to positively influence. Its not a group I wish to join forces with. Its not a group I care about in any fashion. If they manage to keep the show a remake then it will be their show. They can dance and laugh all they wish but in fact, they've done nothing to me or my peers except help support trampling the future hopes of BSG. That merely puts us where we have been for 20+ years. If that makes them feel important then I hope they view the situation with pride.

I've used up too much energy on the little Vandals and they've focused way too much on what I think and feel. Vince tried to convince me that we could all work together. That got me thinking just how much I don't want them associated with anything I care about. I have to believe that Vince was sincere in his hopes that the two groups could come together and I also have to respect that one some level. However, if they are the symbol of the new BSG, then I just know that much more strongly I want nothing to do with this new show and its definitely not geared for me or any values I have.

If they want everyone to know they're more than a handful ... fine. Good on them. If they want to write letters ... fine. Good on them there too. Hopefully they'll start to focus more on what they think of themselves than what I or any other Retro thinks of them. When the credits roll on the mini, I hope they still feel pride and finally feel like they've vendicated themselves.

For any Retros I've embarassed in the past few weeks, I truly apologize. It was never my intention to give anyone the impression that you were in any way responsible for my actions. I should have thought more about how much I respect the long-time fans and less about my anger at seeing anyone succeed using the tactics I've seen used.

Trading jabs with MooreRons is a waste of time and energy. Like my Troll policy I will ignore them. When I read some thing that angers me I will take 30 seconds to chill and start a new thread about aspects of TOS that made it special.

My advice folks when a MooreRon angers you...brew some Chamomile and think, "what would Muffit say"?

I belong to the board set up at SubspaceBBS.Com. I have asked many questions about the production out of curiosity. I have doubts that it will even come to light since most of the roles haven't been cast yet.

Good for you! It's like I said way back, people like that thrive on resistance, it's their source of energy. Ignore them and they lose most of their power.

I just hope that some here realize that I have *always* wanted a continuation and always supported it, but I have had to do my job and be somewhat less opinionated when speaking as a mod, at least when things got hot. It was *not* because I support the neos, or am trying to sabotage the remake!

Michelle,

You were part of my reasoning when I made this decision. Thank you for your PMs. Your thinking was quite sound to me. I appreciate your time and words.

I appreciate that, and I'm behind what you're saying. It is easy for feelings to get hurt in the fervor of the moment, on all sides- I just let off a little steam. I'm good now. :)

Attacking fans of Moore's version does absolutely nothing to help us. In fact it hurts us.

The Moore fans have no power to change things. The ones that do are those in charge of the production, various sponsers, the scifi channel, vivendi, etc. Those are the ones to direct your energies if you want to be effective. Don't waste energy fighting pawns.

I'll jump on this bandwagon, too.

Let's keep our focus and see what we can do to get this thing done right.
