Its probably best not to discuss the war here, but I found one story that really deserves more attention.

between all the hooplah about the taking down of Saddam's statue and the resulting celebration... there was one story that was overshadowed by the monumental events of the day.

Flying over Baghdad in her A-10 tankbusting fighterplane, Kim "Killer Chick" Campbell's plane took near catastrophic damage from antiaircraft fire from the Iraqis. Her plane started rolling out of control, her main control systems shot to hell. Rather than eject, she took the gutsy choice of forcing her plane back under control with what little control systems she had left, and flying out of Iraq.

The aft section of her plane had so many bullet holes part of it looked like a cheese grater. And it takes alot of muscling to fly it. But she brought it back to make a perfect landing. She is now the only pilot to ever survive flying a A-10 with bare manual controls since the plane entered operational deployment.

And the next day she went back up and flew two more missions!!! :D

:warrior:an article about the story with a video link (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/2020/World/iraq_warthog030412.html)

What say we make her an honorary Colonial Warrior (and member here).

The A-10 Warthog is a prized plane among pilots, from what I hear. Glad to see a pilot worthy of flying one.

WooHoo! you go girl! (and it's not exactly a girlie plane to fly either, I think it's nickname is the "warthog, " not a pretty plane but a workhorse.
