During DeSanto's final days, I called the Battlestar Galactica production office to determine what was going down. Michael Faries encouraged me not to do that again, and I didn't.
Until now.
Taking the advice of newtnoise in a previous thread, I called Universal Studios on their main line and got through to someone willing to connect me to the SciFi Channel. (The SciFi people were out to lunch until 2:00 PM Pacific. The line just rang and rang the first time I called them.)
Anyway, trying to sound as professional as possible, I asked if the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries had started filming. I got connected to "someone in production," where I proceeded to ask again. The response was "I don't know - let me connect you to someone who can help."
I was transferred yet again, and a woman answered "This is Ellen." I asked my question - has the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries started filming?
"Yes, it has," came the reply.
"Is the full casting information available on that?" I asked.
"Where are you calling from?" she asked.
"I'm calling from -"
And then, without a suitable answer, I panicked and hung up mid-sentence. Sorry, Ellen.
Bottom line: I chickened out. But if it's helpful, Ellen says filming has begun.
