What happened to Red Squadron?

The Big G had two squadrons initially, but what happened to red? I thought Starbuck and Boomer were in red initally?

Silver Spar Squadron became a Galactica squadron launching from the G after Living Legend with Jolly transfering over under Bojay's command, presumably to take Sheba's place who went over to blue.

They mentioned red squdron in the war of the gods briefly, it was the second squdron to be taken by the ship of lights if I recall correctly.

In Richard's books she was the leader until killed.

I think they stopped talking about Red Squadron because Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer and Sheba were all the members of Blue Squadron.

But the did mention them once in a while.

Could it be that they were on different shifts? Protection for the fleet would have to be provided around the clock. When there was a fight, everyone would have launched, regardless of whether they should have been on duty at that particular time. Since the main characters were with Blue Squadron, most of the focus would have been on Blue.

Just a possibility.
