In order for them to start filming the mini costumes must have been made. I am wondering if they are the traditional ones used in TOS Galactica or a brand new design. Olmos would have to be measured for one, tailors would do the alterations and so on which in essence amounts to less time spent on filming scenes.

I can answer this one. IF this Re-Imagining is the course they take, one of the FIRST big decisions from Moore was that the Costumes be completely re-designed.

I've heard through various sources, these Costumes will not resemble the originals in any way.

Also, forget the Viper helmets, those were axed by Moore at the beginning.

Yep! I kinda knew they had to go, but was really afraid to ask.

I thought the costume design...frack, the overall design of that show was excellent.

Let's put it this way, it was so good, it made me want to go into art. And I'm a graphic designer thanks to Galactica.

He wants to modernize everything. It's BATTLESTAR GALACTICA it suppose to have motifs dating back to are ancient development on Earth i.e. Egyptian Helmets etc! Greek, Aztec, Egyptian mythology throw in? More i hear about Moore Ron changes, the more he makes himself out to be a jackass!

Even pro remake people detest him now! THIS this is suppose to be the Galactica? Someone tell Olmos to do a Robotech adaptation instead. He looks more like Captain Gloval than Adama. This sicken me even more. No Viper Helmets? George Lucas is so lucky he didn't hire Moore to help him co-write the new Star Wars trilogy. Otherwise we would have reimagined Lightsabres, Jedi and Sith running around. Jedi Padawan learners who bitch slap the Jedi Masters when pissed off and Sith Lords who have sex with you first, then kill you!

Sorry i'll rant somewhere else, but you gotta understand this news is getting worse and worse!

This show uses Egyptian helmuts and mythology. Why Moore would want to get rid of the helmuts, clothing, ect is beyond comprehension. He did say in an interview we would recognize the show as Galactica. he must have meant in name only.

Because Moore is an IDIOT, an too many so-called fans of Galactica either wasted alot of time supporting him and his efforts, and told those of us trying to fight Moore's changes that we should give him a break OR they keep repeating the retarded mantra "You just want 70's TV and Disco Hair"...

In the end, it's Moore and his Supporters who share the blame over what's happening to Galactica.

"You just want 70's TV and Disco Hair"...

Damn right i would, i'd take the 1970's version over a crappy year 2000+ Remake anyday cos the fad will stop and people will look back saying "Did i do one of those godforsaken remakes, was i apart of that stupid remake everything FAD Craze back then?"

Besides we were more open to suggestions than other would have us believe. If you don't respect the "Source materials" at hand then you ain't qualified for the task at hand are you Moore Ron?

Thats the difference between good adaptations and bad ones? source material not respect = Bad and crappy product

Examples of this are: Good adaptations

- "Lord of the Rings Trilogy"

- "Dune Mini Series"

- "Harry Potter Movies"

- "Blade"

- "Spider-Man" to a lesser extent

- "X-Men"

- "Brotherhood of the Wolf" based on the original film

- "Jules Verne" mini series

- "Daredevil" 50/50 really but it passes o.k.

- "Mortal Kombat 1 movie"

Bad adaptations

- "Street Fighter the Movie"

- "Barbed Wire"

- "Timecop" the series

- "Robocop" the series

- "Dungeons and Dragons The movie"

O.K. the list goes on (feel free to add more if you want) but once you don't respect the source materials of the original work, storyarc, concepts etc, garbage follows soon afterwards. Battlestar Galactica 2003 is destined for this list pretty soon unless something happens in favor of changes things around for the better.

That is what made the show futuristic IMHO. Ordinary military haircuts wouldn't have worked.

Not to mention that long hair was standard for men (military or not) in various historical times like the U.S. revolutionary war. ;)

A brand new design. That's what I heard a couple of months ago. LordStarFyre was right on the mark with his posting.

It's another slap in the face to Original series fans, imho. DeSanto's production had some altered costume designs BUT they bore a resemblance to the original. (I know.)

Honestly, the first P.R. pictures we'll see will be a major character in costume.

The more I hear about the mini-series, the more I think it'll look like Space: Above And Beyond, but without the class or Kristen Cloke!

Peter

The Galactica bridge set of the remake has been equated to something from "Space: Above and Beyond." It's interesting that you mention that show. BG influence galore. :)

Yep, some of the Sarotoga sets, Hammerhead cockpits come to mind.

Really liked the show despite the influences.

They should have hired him to play Adama.

I would have also considered him for the role if he wasn't on Hack. Morse was in The Rock with Ed Harris
