Steven Spielberg presents ‘Taken’, had ten episodes @ cost about $40,000,000.00 dollars. This was not a typical Scifi Channel show. Produced by Steven Spielberg (in case ANYBODY missed the Spielberg connection). Plus it was also done by his production Co. Dreamworks, working on one of Spielberg’s favorite themes 'aliens' like ET, Earth 2 & Close Enconters'.

Ok Steven Spielberg’s ‘Taken’ was 20 hours of TV with ads, 40 million divided by 20 hours, let’s go the math on this. Steve Spielberg’s ‘Taken’ cost $2,000,000.00 per hour, with ads.

If Atlantiaviper’s $14-16 million for the ‘mini’ is accurate, and I believe it could be because The Scifi Channel has already started pushing this ‘mini’ in short ads (the Cylon redeye) & has it posted @ http://www.scifi.com with a link to http://www.scifi.com/battlestar , before Director Michael Rymer has yet to say ‘action’.

But now let’s do the math on Battlestar Galactica lite, holy cow Battlestar Galactica will cost between $4 to $3 million dollars an hour. So is this where some of that Farscape money has gone?

It's a real shame that they'll waste this money on a product that may (possibly) or may not (probably) be successful when they could have spent that money on a well done continuation that would probably result in the highest ratings the SciFi Channel has ever seen. Instead, due to vindictiveness by certain TV executives, it appears that fans of the original series are to be hung out to dry, twisting in the wind...if we let them.
