You heard it here!

Herb Hefferson Jr of Battlestar Galactica is going to be at MEMORABILLIA! THE NEC BIRMINGHAM 5 and 6 April 2003. and it looks like he will be there on boths days!

So, now i'm looking to pony up the cash to go. His picture is on a letter i got. Let me back track a little here, i went to a Memorabilia con back in 1999. So i guess on and off they send out updates on conventions happening again.

Usually those that go, are featured on ads you see on magazines and such. Others are just mentioned by name, in printed letters. but not old Boomer his picture's there with HERB HEFFERSON JR - Battlestar Galactica (See Universal, a remembered show by MILLIONS i might add?)

Other stars turning up i'll mention for you all are, Red Dwarf'scast: Craig Charles,Danny John Jules, Robert Llewellyn, Chloe Annett. Star Trek's Marina Sirtis from Star Wars you got Dave Prowse A.K.A. Darth Vader, Femi Taylor A.K.A Oola. From Star Trek Voyager's Manu Intiraymi (Twenty year old Borg kid), Angel's Mark Lutz (Groosalugg) Shane Rimmer (Thunderbirds. U.S. Submarine Captain in the James Bond movie Spy who loved me /extra in Superman Movies) Chris Owens from X-Files. Plus stars from Hammer horror, Bond, X-Files, Dark Shadows, Buffy/Angel, Star Trek, Star Wars, and more sci-fi are said to be at the spring memorabilia Convention

There will also be some sports stars there as well.

If you want more info here are some telephone lines and such

Tel: 01683 - 220787 Fax: 0683 - 220798

Only £ 8 to get in £ 5 for children no joke

Remember The Birmingham NEC is right by the Airport and british rail lines. So those that love conventions and love to travel, you can fly in and be there for two days i guess.

Dealer tables of all kinds will be there. Although other kinds as my friends tell me won't. these conventions aren't too bad,(they could be better) but it's in Birmingham and i'd have to travel again. Hey i'm going for Boomer or planning to? So i guess Sunday or Saturday for me it might be.

I still don't know as of yet if for me, Galacticon2003 is on so i'd better take advantage of this while i can!

I can't believe U.K. Battlestar Galactica fans aren't saying anything. Isn't this big news? come on now next Saturday, Birmingham NEC!

Boomer people? I guess we want Ron Moore and Bonnie Hammer touring and signing then, saying how the remake is gonna blow you away. Was is a fan to do. I finally get news and no one wants something to discuss besides the remake bitching! Sorry i guess it's me, desperate to fight for a Galactica continuation fighting tooth and nail, i guess.

KJ,

I posted about this a week or so back on PCO.

I was planning to go but something's come up so probably not now :(, unfortunately its a 3.5 hrs drive (at least) from home so need to have a clear weekend (one day to go, one day to recover!).

Just want to advise you - he won't be doing a talk - at memorabilia the stars just tend to sit at tables and sign so...

Also a friend of mine has told me that there is a Red Dwarf con nearby that weekend so i imagine that there is some sort of time sharing going on with the RD stars....

I went to the one back in 1999 just before Star Wars Episode 1 came out. Ray Park Who played Darth Maul wasn't suppose to be there turned up and i got his autograph to boot.

Damn shame Boomer (Herb) wasn't in the Second Coming trailer, otherwise he might have brought it along. Ptiy Hatch, Lockhart or Benedict ain't there either. They could have really rallyed attention to the BG remake nonesense. No that hollywood would listen now anyway it gonna be filmed now.

Why isn't Richard Hatch going or booked? The one Galactica guy who was in and co-directed the Battlestar Galactica: SC Trailer isn't going to one. The U.K. fans would really back a Battlestar continuation after seeing the trailer which many say is, without a shadow of a doubt the way they envisioned Galactica coming back!

Bigger question is, why don't good friends of Hatch like Herb Jefferson Jr and Dirk Benedict, show his trailer at cons they go to? are they still loyal to Glen Larson or uneasy about copyrights and such.

Fingers looks like us fans in the U.K. won't get to see both the stars or the trailer unless we go to see bigger conventions in the States like DragonCON, Wizardworld, or ComicCon.

*Sigh* such is life. But life is a struggle, never give up!

Well the thing is with memorabilia - they wouldn't show the trailer anyway as it is just basically a signing show ....(well theyv have been in the past).

Hatch was booked for cult tv last year but they had to cancel him because of poor ticket sales :( We got dirk and herb together but not Hatch and dirk...

I saw all three earlier in the year at a star trek con in may - with the SC trailer.

But sigh yes you're right .. unless someone comes up with a con idea for this country .... we're doomed to travel...

Yeah why can't the U.K. get Sci-fi and Comic conventions done right? Only exception to the rule is Star Trek which is still in Hyde Park London?

That does it i'm going to Memorabilia Saturday, got to get a Camcorder though but i hope Boomer doesn't charge too many cubits for his autograph!
