Not a 100% surprise, according to many other news reports recently. It had been noted that Diller didn't like "spacey" science fiction so maybe with his leaving and the possible Vivendi sale, the SciFi Channel might get back to showing science fiction.
I'll wait for the Vivendi press release and then see who or what they put in charge of the channel as programming director/s.
