I've left the insanity of the SFC board to come cause misery and turmoil here. I would introduce myself but most of you know me already.
For those that don't .....
Hi.
Now what do you guys talk about in this forum anyway?

Last time I checked were talking about hope, songstresses, Grenada, Congo, being shot at, Oh: if you visit the cafe there's even how to find your Elvish name. Sometimes we even discuss BSG. Occasionally. But you can join in and make a tangent anywhere you wish.
Just watch out for Warrior. He really is one. LOL! oh, that's right you are too. Sometimes it's not so bad to be surrounded by guys, very safe here!
If you need a cheer up visit the art threads: very nice stuff!

Two Brain,
I knew it was only a matter of time.
You were banging your brains against the wall with too many trolls.
You fought some good fights. time to rest since it seems the battle is over (what ever way it comes out).
BTW I have some questions,
What is it that brought you back to SciFi board from your Sandy handle?
What is it you do in the business?

Here now intending to sit by the fire and chat. Sadly, I never knew where this was until I finally recalled the link on Michael's site. I went back to the SFC when a couple of folks assured me the remake trajedy was being considered to become a prequel. I didn't believe it at first but promised a few folks that if I could help the fight I'd come back. Since it seemed like conditions had changed, I did.
Having played the Jerry Springer game for abotu 6 weeks now, I decided I needed to hang on a playground with adult supervision. When I found that Warrior really was one, that pretty much sealed the deal.
I've posted my background a couple of times but just to give another quick overview, I don't really do anything in the business. Still active duty but I spend a fair amount of my off-duty time doing modeling and animation for low budget flicks. I must be getting better at this because the quality of the things I'm working on is getting better. I can't show most of my stuff because its held until the show is released and some of these are still floating looking for a slot to be shown. Like most folks, I hate everything I did more than 3 months ago.
I do know a number of good folks who have worked on the same projects and some as friends of friends. Some friends are well entrenched in "the business". We talk about mutual friends, vacations, and all the usual stuff. I have been the military advisor on a couple of films and am currently cleaning up another script to bring it more in line with real international politics. Consequently, some details of projects come out in those conversations. I make sure I get permission before "leaking" what I've heard and usually confirm it from another source because Hollywood productions are akin to high schools in many ways. You could grab 20 students at any high school and ask what's going on and you'll get 20 different answers. Michael and I know different sets of folks with some overlap. The real "insiders" know another set of folks. Sometimes we get contrasting information. There's been a number of times he's posted something and I've asked him "are you sure?" Over the years, I've learned his info is usually a lot better than what I hear so I usually default to him if something doesn't sound right unless I know beyond any doubt that what I've heard is right.
Somehow the idea got out that I was a studio guy hunting after RDM. I'm not connected with the studio in any way. I'm just a guy who animates and talks to people and sometimes relays what he knows. That doesn't mean I wouldn't toss RDM if I had the power because I think he's horribly mismatched for this project but that's not my call. I'd probably support him more if he would at least attempt to be faithful to the franchise and worry more about what would be good for BSG and less about what would be good for RDM.
- but, the short answer is I don't have a crystal ball connected to The Black Tower. I have a dirty piece of glass.
