What were the names of the squadrons of the Pegasus?
The Galactica had two squadrons blue and red.
I only can remember one squadrons name of the Pegasus and I'm not sure if it was
"Silver Spar Squadron"
or
"Silver Star Squadron".
So, what's right and what about the second?
Do we know the squadron names of other battlestars too?

I don't know if you know, but at your site BattlestarPegasus.com the area "About Commander Cain and the Pegasus" is missing content. There are only two pictures and an introductary sentence.
I bet you know and it's just because you're extremely busy. But otherwise I just wanted to let you know.

I take it from the dialogue from the pilot the Galactica had four? Red, Blue as well as Green and Yellow due to the fact Starbuck went overboard and said Purple and Orange would also join in their faked attack.
In the series it's two squadrons, Red and Blue. The Pegasus had Silver Spar squadron whether the other was "Gold" has always been of some debate? Since the Pegasus is the sole survivor of the "Battle of Molocay" it's possible other squadrons from the fifth fleet's destroyed other Battlestars became Cain's new Silver Spar squadron. But this is all fan speculation so the best answer i can offer is, Silver Spar is the only one mentioned due to the fact the series was being rushed out at the time and they never covered it.
As for other Battlestar squadron's. that opens up a hold new can of worms! Whether or not, Glen Larson played around with pilot movie to speed up the Galactica's exodus and on to the great journey of the fleet.
I do know on other websites it's mentioned during the show's production. Viper hemets for other the ships were produced, the Battlestars "Cerberus, Solaria and Prometheus" were said to have ornaments of their ships "Three headed dog", a hand holding a "Flaming Torch" and a "Burning Sun" on the other Viper pilots helmets etc. whether or not this is true or was cut out along with any names for the other Battlestars squadrons is a mystery.
But this information can be found on www.BattlestarZone
Hopefully being this is the year of BG 25th anniversary maybe new news will come to light to support all the vague info out there?

Silver Spar was the only squadron name mentioned in the standard version of the Living Legend. Where the Gold name came from is anyone's guest, maybe the script?
