These are some images from the shuttle that the crew took before the accident. The first few may not work right now. I think their server went down, probably cause of the server load.

But I wanted to post these links anyways.

Wow, those are some incredible images.

The beauty of the ones taken above the planet are a striking contrast to that of the helmet.

The last one sums it up quite well. If you didn't know it was the shuttle, it would be a beautiful image.

Just so sad. I agree, the last pic would be stunning in any other circumstance.

Thanks Thomas for posting the images. The planet photos are beautiful. The Israeli astronaut: How significant is that little snapshot: Their first astronaut gazing out at a view of home that doesn't show the country boundaries when his life has been lived in total vigilance of any threat to his country. And then he doesn't get to come back to his Earth home to tell about it. And we get a reminder of just how rare is the courage of these scientists we call astronauts. Godspeed.
