Richard Hatch On "MacGuyver"

At 12:19AM PST, TVLand is currently airing an episode with Richard as a criminal. Interesting stuff. I wish I had blank tape to record it. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Richard's played a lot of bad guys. Some of them are really creepy psychotics, like the guest characters he played on TJ Hooker, The Rookies and one of the episodes of Hotel. MacGyver is my favorite of his bad guy roles, because it's campy, not scary. I've seen this episode of MacGyver a number of times, and Richard just looks like he's having fun, because the whole situation is so ridiculous.

I'm watching it, but which one is Richard? No one looks like him.

I'm not certain what the name of the character was, but he was the one who complained the most out of the three crooks who were chasing Mac and the older couple. He was the one who was shooting at Mac while Mac was setting up that makeshift cannon using parts of the couple's car. Speaking of the couple, the guy who portrayed him I believe was the actor best known for his role as Deviln on Knight Rider. He also appeared as John in the Galactica episode "Experiement In Terra". So, you had two people connected to BSG who appeared on the same episode of MacGuyver. Richard was quite comical in that episode, in a good way.

Late last year on TV Richard Hatch was on the classic showings of "Rip Tide" inwhich he played a psycho?! And played it well, so besides Apollo he can really act pretty well outside the well known roles he has played.

Don't know about the other bad guy roles but his "Rip Tide" guest spot was chilling! Not something you would expect from the noble Captain Apollo he did on Battlestar Galactica.

I remember hearing about a TV movie that Dirk appeared in back in '96 for NBC. He portrayed some kind of killer. This was about the time that Alaska was released. Richard and Dirk are really good in front of the camera. It would be interesting to see them team up for something outside of Galactica.

Benedict also played a corrupt air force Colonel in a 1990's TV movie about U.F.O's inwhich he was tracking down an E.T. alien! He did some rather cheezy acting towards the end but he was a bad guy and i'd never saw him like that before?

Thanks for the reminder on "Alaska" Captmiloman although Dirk did little up there on that mountain peak, Heston had the best part though, and showed his love of guns no doubt?
