A good story line

What if the pegasus reached earth first?,survived the 2 base stars and some how found earth before the fleet,namely she could achive her true speed by not being hindered by the rest of the fleet.By the time Galactica reaches earth shes met by a new class of viper and battlestars what do you all think?

Interesting idea but I always thought of Commander Cain fighting a holding action in the background confusing the Cylons and keeping the Cylons from using their full military force on the Galactica.

Sounds a lot like Glen A. Larson's attempted project back in 1999. ;) Admittedly, I like what Tom DeSanto had in mind moreso.

A couple of thoughts, first Cain did not have the Earths location, it wasn’t until the ships of light appeared did the Galactica have an actual course to follow.

But her is a another thought, would the ship of light allow the Galactica to find a primitive Earth, incapable of assisting the Colonials or would they give them a course that lead to an Earth strong enough to be an equal of the Cylon empire.

If by some bizarro twist of fate should the Moore remake go to a series, he says he might include the Pegasus storyline. Remake or no, should BG come back, how would the story of Cain be told? Lloyd Bridges and Lorne Greene can't play Adama and Cain anymore.

If were talking continuation here then in a continuation i'll like to see that Apollo is promoted to Commander of the Galactica and i would like to see Colonel Tolan of the Pegasus is promoted to Commander also, i.e. Cain's first officer becomes next in line, someone we know of and remember. Then continuity wise The13thtribe story could be viable!

Not a bad idea from The13thtribe, in a way similar to Hatch's Warhawk story but the reverse? Not Poseidon but Earth that Cain is at!

As to a Battlestar's speed. How do you suggest she got to Earth. The Series never showed us how Battlestars traveled in space other than sublight speeds with the colonial fleet, so how does a Battlestar do it. i suppose any writer would have a spin on it i.e. Jump points, artifical Vortexs, Warp corridors, Hyperdrives! i'd go for anything that hasn't been mentioned before. Thats why i'll go for Richard Hatch's QSE (Quantum, Shift, Effect) approach which would be an unique way for the Colonial Battlestars to travel through space.

who knows what kind of super technology they have.Cain arrives and in typical egomania parks in low earth orbit so the damn world can see him and then interupts every radio and tv signal on earth and spillis the beans .With in 24 hours humans from earth with colonial tech would be building battlestars and fighters out of the asteroid belts of mars and jupiter.With in a year with the whole earth behind the effort a massive fleet would be built the first of the barbarian hordes of the 13th colony would start pushing out to reclaim there fathers planets.

Space travel is a tricky thing, depending how long the Rag Tag Fleet takes the Ships of Lights could pull a Planet of the Apes 2001 on them?

Imagine the Galactica reaches Earth in 8000 A.D. by the Colonial calender, As Apollo and co check Earth out they land in Wasghinton D.C. by the White House. a team of Warriors look about whlie Apollo sees a statue of in the distance.

When he gets there, instead of old Abe Lincoln by the Lincoln staue it's Commander Cain standing with his swagger stick streached out in a military pose and Pegasus insignia flag behind him (Nothing would please me more, than to go to Gammory and raise our Flag!) Then the Pegasus crews decendants come running out and surround the confused Warriors?

Heh only in a fanboys dream.

Or better yet follow the original "Planet of the Apes" ending. Galactica finds Earth but Cylons are there destroying the last human survivors and the final battle erupts between both forces. After a long battle the Colonials are nearing victory, when the Cylons surrender and the captured Imperious Leader talks to Apollo and Sheba (Taylor and Nova) about the cycle of human destruction and how the war on Earth really when between them, while they were searching the stars looking for Earth.

I.M. talks about the last stand they made against the One! who lead the Earth forces to battle Cylons years earlier his final resting place is in the forbidden zone where his tomb is. He warns Apollo and Sheba, Don't look for it you may not like what you find?

Rather than going by shuttle they go on horseback and ride to the forbidden zone soon Apollo and Sheba come across a huge city destroyed by the war years ago. Sheba's scanner picks up traces of colonial metals only found on the colony worlds. Apollo says thats impossible on Earth since the metal ores on this world are different!

They travel to the source of the scans and find an odd shaped wreakage. Apollo and Sheba are both shocked to find the remains of a colonial warship crushed against the buildings that were once apart of the city because the warship is none other than

THE BATTLESTAR PEGASUS lying in the Harbour of San Francisco! next to the Golden Gate Bridge!

Fade out to the sounds of the ocean!
