BattleField Earth on SciFi???

uhh... anyone noticed how SciFi is showing alot of stuff that looks visually cool but has really bad writing to it?

yup.... now they are playing Wing Commander....

carrier space battleships, men and women fighter pilots living together, cheesy conflicts between rookies who talk back to their superiors, uninteresting sexual foreplay...and oh sooo lame and cheesy writing....

Which is sad... There is alot of money in the special effects and sets. Not like a spielberg show, but it is all you need...except for a good script, director, and cast.

:confused: Yesterday on " MST3000" they had Space Mutiny and the ships were almost all from scenes in BG. How did Universal allow that?
You are right about the movies shown lately, poor writing but visually exciting. Maybe the directors and writers are relying on their 80's arcade experiences for inspiration.:rolleyes:

Todd Moyer was tied to this production who was working with Glen Larson on the Battlestar Pegasus movie. Do you think Wing Commander's production gives us an idea of what the Battlestar Pegasus movie would have been like?

Actually I got the impression that Wing Commander The Movie is kinda where Moore is headed....

They took an awesome concept, with an already established story line and visual style and turned it into "Eddie Prinze Jr. as FLASH GORDON!"

The only things that had in common with the real Wing Commander were the names.

All in just 240 minutes sans ads, Battlefield Earth is getting another shot, go figure?
