This 4 CD set is housed in a mini box set with a booklet featuring producer?s notes, behind the scenes pictures, a star chart and a dedication to Richard Hatch.

These new science fiction stories were to be co-written and co-produced by Richard Hatch, who passed away in 2017 before contributing his ideas, so the project is now dedicated to his memory.

Each story has become more than the sum of its parts, recorded by a cast who wanted to record together again, in the scenes a faire setting of a fleet in space.

Written, directed and produced by Daniel Earnshaw, the new recordings for this one-off production were made in 2018 and 2019.

SPACE MUTINY: Tensions run high as a vote on the direction of the fleet approaches, but control has been seized in a mutiny by someone who has their own agenda?
(Space Mutiny is a remake of the 1988 B-Movie of the same name - used with permission.)

FAIL SAFE: When an unknown force pulls the stricken fleet off course, an improvised mission sets off to find the source and the risk is greater than anyone could have thought?

QUARANTINE WORLD: On a world that should never be visited, time and space are being manipulated and a crash-landed cadet meets someone who just shouldn?t be there?

PARADISE VOID: On the eve of the vote to decide the fleet?s fate, a signal from outside the fleet might decide the outcome unless the truth can be found?

Placed a CD order and maybe I'll also do the digital order eventually (also did the Kindle version of the scripts).

Just finished the first one, "Space Mutiny". I admit it takes just a little getting used to in the sense that I know why characters won't be referred to by name and other things, but once you learn to accept things on those terms and enjoy listening to the sounds of familiar voices in familiar settings (and great to hear the line about how the Colonel "will go crazy!") it becomes very enjoyable. Very well done.

I've finished through "Quarantine World" and now I get the whole meaning of setting things up for the potential diverging paths of (1) The trailer or (2) Galactica 1980. This is very well-done as it reminds me again that no matter what one rightly thinks of what "Galactica 1980" was, a creative mind can make use of it for storytelling purposes of harmonizing it to traditional Galactica storytelling. Very well-played in letting Robyn interact with the "original" Troy so to speak. :)

Another random thought on these fine dramas. People like me who always hope that anything that is a continuation of Galactica makes an allowance of some kind that something eventually developed between Apollo and Sheba post-HOG can point to two tantalizing hints along the way in the stories.

First, in "Space Mutiny" after Boxey gives a report on what he can see of the bridge and how his cockpit is up against the negative shield (allowing him to deliver the great line about the Colonel seeing this and going crazy!), Sheba's next line is "That's my boy." (Suggestion of a stepmother type relationship at this point?)

And then in "Paradise Void", confirmation at least of a relationship comes from Bojay's observation that Sheba is one of the few who can get through to Apollo at present because of what he calls her "more personal capacity" with him. Not explicit but just enough for us who want to think that's how it turned out! :)

I hope everyone who's read about these CDs in this thread has gone ahead with their purchases.

This is the only clip, from the Saga of a Fugitive Fleet behind the scenes video, where a longer scene was filmed.

Saga of a Fugitive Fleet Part 1: Space Mutiny stars Ken Bones (Kalgan) and John Guilor (MacPhearson), who both appeared in the finale of the 50th anniversary episode of Dr Who (The Day of the Doctor) but who only met for the first time for these recording sessions.

Shows a lot of the care that went into the production! We're all indebted to you for your fine work.

I plan on giving a "second listen" to everything in the next couple weeks because that will allow things to stand out more the next go-round.

I'm going to have to get a copy! (Is it on one CD, or a Set? I would assume a set?) Also glad to see some of the original actors lend their voices! :)
I kind of wish they'd make another TV series along the lines of the original '78 BSG? Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the 're-imagined' series, and have a few friends who worked on it, but it's not exactly something you can sit down and watch with younger viewers... :nervous:

It's a multi-CD set of four different stories. The stories are self-contained but it makes sense to listen to them in sequence.

That could be a good way of describing them.

I’d call them first person audio dramas.

They're very well-done and as I've said before, even with the limitations they have (can't mention the characters by name etc.) it nonetheless is truly hearing the original cast play these roles again after so many years and letting us in part experience what we'd hoped to have seen happen 25 years ago when more of the people were alive and could have participated in something. I know in my case, what this drama has done has help remove the bitterness I felt for so many years regarding the Moore series. That's not to say I feel any differently about the Moore series as an end product, but the fact that I'm finally getting a chance to experience something with the original cast in something more than just a short trailer and which also if you listen carefully gives "confirmation" to my favorite post-HOG vision regarding the future of certain characters, is a LOT more than I could have hoped to experience at this stage.

Thank you again for making this possible. I look forward to finding some time when work settles down to go through a second listening of this.

You'll enjoy it! A lot of care went into this and in the end, even with its limitations, it *is* a lot of what we'd always hoped we'd have one day, which is the original cast doing their roles once again. And I've found that the fact we have something like that is of itself a kind of vindication and the end result is that if I still had any bitterness in me because of Moore, it isn't there any more.

Went through my second listening of the whole saga the other day and enjoyed it even more! This time, the linkage between Kalgan and Baltar resonated more and made me appreciate better how each story ultimately built off each other.

As I said before, the real joy about having this to listen to and return to is that whatever bitterness I once had about the existence of the Moore series is no longer there because as a fan, there is something tangible out there that features the original cast returning to these roles one more time and offering a reminder of how special they were in bringing the characters of the Galactica universe to life.

If you haven't bought the CDs yet, get them! And if you do have them, and know of other Galactica fans in need of a Christmas season gift......this would be the perfect item.

I enjoyed going through it a second time and I even for fun did a little audio re-editing so that Tigh's initial journal entry begins with some music underscore from the original series. Could never be done "officially" I understand but it helped further cement in my mind how the final project, even with the limitations it had to operate under is a true Galactica effort.

I'm on my third listen now, and each new one helps bring out more things to appreciate in terms of how ingeniously the stories were constructed even with the limitations were placed.

I've also gone a little further in experimenting with some Stu Phillips cues over certain scenes and found that the cue for the passage through the Nova Madagon works perfect for the sequence of escape from the space station in "Fail Safe". Also a nice cue from LPOTG-Pt.1 for the close of that story as we hear the final report on what was found.

I got these for Christmas last year and have listened (so far) to the first two; I can't recommend them enough to everyone here on the forum, which unfortunately seems to be a continually dwindling number. You will NOT be disappointed.

I appeared again on the IFB video podcast last night with fellow fanfic author Fran Levy and once again made sure to get some praise in for what "Saga" has meant to the fan community. Co-host Chris Moore showed off his copy of the printed script.
